Eurovia, the protection of natural materials is
a major point of the company’s concerns, also
favored by abundance of resources of RAP.
Therefore the techniques using recycled materials
have developed considerably.

30% of reclaimed asphalt pavement with a binder
content of 4.5% allows to save about 30% of
natural aggregates but also 25% of new bitumen.

 targeted PRODUCTION

The identification methodology of RAP storages
is imposed by the prevailing legislation
(NF EN 13108-8). So every characterization of
a batch leads to a technical leaflet for reclaimed
asphalt pavement. Tests and controls allow to
find the right use of these materials meant for
recycling.

Independent of the quality itself of the reclaimed
asphalt pavement, the recycling rate is highly
depending on the type of the mixing plant and the
mode of reincorporation in this plant.

In addition, regarding the constant concern to
optimize the resort to RAP, Eurovia uses a thesis
carried out by its Research Center and which aimed
at quantifying remobilization of the binder coming
from RAP when producing a new formula. With
this knowledge, the company proposes to produce
the most appropriate recycling rate according to
available resources and type of asphalt concrete.
Every conventional asphalt concrete but also
most of the products and processes of the Eurovia
range can use reclaimed asphalt pavement. The
warm mixes of the Tempera® range are not an
exception and the company does not hesitate to
propose the combination RAP / warm mixes.

Every year, Eurovia valorizes more than 2 million
tons of RAP corresponding to an average recycling
rate of 13% in its own asphalt plants.
That is why, from now on, when the recycling rate
is over 30% in an asphalt concrete formula, the
letter HR will be added to the product’s name: for

Together with the whole technical network, Eurovia
has created for the whole company a specific study
method in laboratory for the asphalt concretes with
a high recycling rate.

However, with the numerous settings up of the
company on the territory, there is the possibility to
produce asphalt concretes at high recycling rate
for everyone: RAP can be introduced up to 70% on
certain industrial facilities.
