This document outlines the requirements and guidelines for research proposals and papers for the Schools Division Research Committee. It provides details on: 1. Paper formatting requirements such as font, spacing, and margins. 2. Required parts and sections for basic research and action research proposals including introductions, literature reviews, methodology, and dissemination plans. 3. Technical requirements for proposals and final papers regarding tense, order of parts, and references. 4. Templates for completed basic research and action research final papers. 5. Ways forward for the committee including calls for proposals and a research colloquium.

1. RESEARCH

2. Paper Requirements:
a. short bond paper (8.5”x11”)
b. Arial font style, 11 font size
c. 1.5 text spacing
d. 1 top, 1.5 left, 1 bottom and 1 right
margins

3. Paper Requirements:
e. For research proposals, annexes 1, 2
and 3 must be attached with the permit to
conduct given during the oral presentation.
f. For final paper, annex 6 must be
complete with the curriculum vitae of the
proponent and the approval sheet to be
awarded during the final defense.

6. Technical Requirements for the Proposals:
a. Proposals must be written in future tense and in
third person.
b. Parts must be strictly complied.
c. For BR Proposals, the following must be
prepared:
1. Part I: must be composed of 3 to 5
paragraphs only with the rationale on the last
paragraph
2. Part II: literature must consist of current
and past studies, at most 10 years back, start
from the latest

proposal defense, questionnaires must be
validated first by the District Research TWG
for teachers and MTs, co-school heads of 3
members for SHs and the SDRC for division-
based and non-teaching personnel with
certificate of validation before floating them
4. Part IX: use the APA format in citing
references but in the list of references,
complete citation must be followed

8. Technical Requirements for the Proposals:
d. For AR Proposals, the following must be
prepared:
1. Part I: must be composed of 3 to 5
paragraphs only with the rationale on the last
paragraph
2. Part II: these were already given during the
proposal defense, questionnaires must be

members for SHs and the SDRC for division-

the agreed proposed intervention, must
undergo QA first through the District QA

issues, said must be brought to the
attention of the EPS

14. Technical Requirements for the Final Paper:
a. Final paper must be written in past tense and in
third person except for the acknowledgment.
b. Parts must be strictly complied.
c. For completed BR and AR:
1. abstract must be written in a single
paragraph (c. 6-7 sentences, 150-250 words)
2. acknowledgment must bear the initials of the
researcher indented at the lower right of the
sheet in bold letters
