6. INTRODUCTION
REIL is Rajasthan Electronics & Instruments Ltd. It is
a public sector unit and it has a prominent place
amongst the electronics industry of Rajasthan. It was
established in 1981. It is situated at the Kanakpura
industrial area about 12 Km from Jaipur city.
REIL has joint venture between the Government of
India & the Government of Rajasthan, through their
respective institutions. Government of India and
Government of Rajasthan holds51% and 49 % share
in this company respectively.

9. SPV Modules
 Connected assembly of solar cells.
 Output of 0.5 - 0.6 volt DC.
 Output Current depends on Area of the cell and the
amount of Light falling.
 So efficiency is determined by the area of a module.

10. How PV Cells Work?
 Composed of ultra-thin layer of N type silicon on top
of a thicker layer of P type silicon.

Processes during manufacturing of SPV modules :-

12. 1) Tabbing of Cells
 Process of making terminals of a
bare cell by soldering copper
strips to the bus bar.
2) Row Making
 A row of cells is made by
connecting positive surfaces
of one cell to the negative
surface of another cell.

13. 3) Stringing
 The rows of SPV cells are
connected in series to get
desired power rating.
4) Lay Up
 In this process, solar cells
Are put in between various
layers for lamination and
curing process.

• Can be designed for variety
of applications and
operational requirements.
• Have no moving parts.
• Expandable.
• Transportable.
• The fuel (sunlight) is free.
• No noise pollution or any
other type of pollution.
• Requires minimum
maintenance.
• Have long service lifetimes
.
Disadvantages
• High Cost.
• Large Surface Area.
• Doesn’t work at night.
• Not reliable unless kept in
a very sunny climate.

Electronic Milk Tester

18. Principle of Electronic Milk Testing Machine
Principle :-
 EMT is a simple, economical but accurate milk fat
testing instrument.
 It measures the fat content instantaneously on a
digital read out.
 It does not involve the use of corrosive chemicals.
 Electron milk tester is based on the photometric
measurement of light scattered by the milk sample.
The light is scattered by the fat globules, acting as
small prism.

4. Measures up to 13% fat
5. Accepts small sample volume
6. Performs 120-150 test per hour
7. Automatic switch over to battery in case of power
failure

 Accuracy : 0.06% for 0-5% fat
0.10% for 5-8% fat
0.20% for 8-13% fat
 Sample volume : 0.5 ml/test
 Diluent volume : 6.5 ml/test

26. Conclusion
 The summer training in REIL played an important
role to develop myself. It was a golden opportunity
for me to get the practical knowledge and hands-on
experience from the things about which I had
theoretical knowledge from the course curriculum.
 As the organization follows the ISO 9001 standards,
everything is done in a particular way following the
documents. In addition I gained knowledge about
the working principle of solar cells and the various
applications in which they are used.
