Why Solar Energy?
It is Free.
It is Clean.
It is Infinitely renewable.
It can reduce our utility cost.
It increases our energy self reliance.
It is extremely reliable.
Solar Photo Voltaic (SPV)
Connected assembly of solar cells.
Output of 0.5 - 0.6 volt DC.
Output Current depends on Area
of the cell and the amount of Light
So efficiency is determined by the
area of a module.
How PV Cells Work?
Composed of ultra-thin layer of N type silicon on top of a thicker
layer of P type silicon.
Manufacturing Process of
Processes during manufacturing of SPV modules :-
Part I Part II
1. Tabbing of Cells 1. Lamination
2. Row Making 2. Curing
3. Stringing 3. Trimming
4. Lay up 4. Testing
5. Terminal Box Fitting & Soldering
1. Tabbing of Cells
Process of making terminals of a bare cell by soldering
copper strips to the bus bar.
2. Row Making
A row of cells is made by connecting positive surfaces of
one cell to the negative surface of another cell.
The rows of SPV cells are connected in series to get
desired power rating.
In this process,
solar cells are
put in between
TERMINAL BOX FITTING
VISUAL & ELECT.
Can be designed for variety of applications and
Have no moving parts.
The fuel (sunlight) is free.
No noise pollution or any othe type of pollution.
Requires minimum maintenance.
Have long service lifetimes (upto 20 years).
Large Surface Area.
Doesn’t work at night.
Not reliable unless kept in a very sunny climate.
EMT is a simple, economical but accurate milk fat testing instrument.
It measures the fat content instantaneously on a digital read out. It does not
involve the use of corrosive chemicals.Electron milk tester is based on the
photometric measurement of light scattered by the milk sample. The light
is scattered by the fat globules, acting as small prism.
1. Auto zero facility
2. Easy to read digital LED display
3. Runs on mains or batteries
4. Measures up to 13% fat
5. Accepts small sample volume
6. Performs 120-150 test per hour
7. Automatic switch over to battery in case of power failure
8. Cheapest method of milk testing .
• MILK IN
Gently mix milk sample
Place sample under milk intake
Push milk in button
• MIX OUT
Empty mix beaker
iPnlatackee mix beaker under milk
Push mix out button
Move mix beaker to mix intake
Raise and lower handle 3 times
Read % fat in display and record

• The summer training in REIL played an important role to
develop myself. It was a golden opportunity for me to get the
practical knowledge and hands-on experience from the things
about which I had theoretical knowledge from the course
• As the organization follows the ISO 9001 standards, everything
is done in a particular way following the documents. In addition
I gained knowledge about the working principle of solar cells
and the various applications in which they are used.
