The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

2. Audience: Professor Jacobson
Coming into this course I have had
knowledge of resume building, as well as
speech.
Professor Jacobson throughout the
course illuminated broader ideas and
techniques that I was not aware of.
The way I look at things now almost is like
I’m having a complete second look at the
material. Revising is necessary.
Communicating to employers when
following up is key. Also understanding
which appropriate job career became
more relevant.
The expansion upon each students skills
were reflected towards myself that I felt
my current employment was way under
my skill level and chose to move on.
Exercises that I participated in included
the use of technology in every aspect.
I highly advise this when learning and
was a great tool especially when learning
unknown things such as the waterfall
technique.
Proposals were completed, which was
interesting because the class was now
giving me a physical experience as well as
tool for job search.
The search has many steps and were
important to me personally because I had
many steps that I had personally not
taken myself.
The flexibility as well as personal
connection with each individual student
was outstanding in my opinion.
Professor style Job Search
3. Audience-Future Students
Automatically from this first line, this class is a
must take.
Attending class is a must as well as something I
looked forward too. Compared to my other
classes, I felt a lot more comfortable with the
environment.
By implementing personality quizzes as well as
activities that included group activity migrated
everyone together. In management I will use
similar techniques with employers to therefore
bring everyone closer together.
When being involved in group activities some
may feel nervous or at unease but this class
chopped the awkwardness out.
Every student has the ability to put forth effort
and opinions that transfers over onto the work.
Implementation of the group activity not also
incorporated speech skills that helped me get
up and project my public speaking .
These skills will be used when interviewing for
certain jobs as well projecting my
entrepreneurial ideas.
I had an instruction set for setting up an
aquarium, and for not been for the project, the
idea of addressing a business of setting up
wouldn't’t have been thought of.
I’m trying to explain that the multiple
instruction sets practice as well as examples
formed the ideal instruction set. Students will
improve if you make the idea inspiring and
something important.
Making the assignments personal a better
understanding and better work output is
released. I will understand and use this when
searching for another job for it to be something
reasonable but deserving of my time.
Skills to Eliminate Awkwardness Group activity and Instruction Take Away
4. Activities & Challenges
Many challenges occur such as simply
getting to class myself. Patience with the
student returns the favor in the long run
such as simply coming to class everyday.
Some technological ideas were different
as well as group activities were different
than anything I’d done. Overcoming
rough drafts problems with our group
after usability tests.
A technique of this usability tests
reframed most of our dynamic raw
material and allowed us as a group to
overcome and make it simpler to read.
A report memo and progress report
throughout the process allowed a simpler
improvement on said designs. The
challenge was worked out.
All the activities done needed testing as
well as final testing. This was completed
by other classmates as well as group
members.
This skill will be used in future job
applications as well as presenting official
information.
Our group couldn’t meet always due to
schedules, so understanding the business
and profession of each individual was
overcome from the use of technology.
Technology was able to bring the group
and class together for testing as well as
educate future ideas. Use tools such as
Google share to bring us into
communication.
Challenges Testing
5. My personal relations in my
education was emphasized by
my cultural understandings.
Activities were proven such as
connecting the work in relating
to personal background
Cultural
Connections and
Considerations
Strategies that l researched in other cultures
included things that were simply about my
culture.
I set out to discover what allows certain
instructional interests compared to certain
culture.
Did the race or said personal interests affect the
actual work provided and completed.
I believe a combination of instructional sets by
the professor allowed for a improved skill of
understanding and completing a own personal
instruction set.
I brought my ideas of past cultural ideas into
informational instructions. If I were to b making
Dutch food, I’d have a certain instructional set
tailored to the necessary food.
Strategies
6. Problematic Communication
Problems (Ethics)
Students ethical responsibility to the
certain knowledge should be secure and
truthful. Credibility and originality is what
keeps work safe usable.
Plagiarism as well as accidental
similarities is eliminated when the
planning and development are taken.
Without certain steps that may be left out
problems are inevitable.
In management and controlling projects,
certain steps are absolutely necessary.
Techniques using bullet points and
limiting space allows for easiness of
readability.
Complying to others schedules
is what is needed in actual life.
Things may not always be your
exact desirable ideal.
The ethics of complying to
other people’s needs and
desires is what pays off for
personal favors in the end.
Applying to group needs such
as not being able to show up
for certain meetings, pays off
because said person is willing
to work and get it done.
Techniques and Planning Ethics
7. Implementation of Visual Aids and
PowerPoint
The use of visual aids allows
for the best representation of
information to audiences.
I took away by spreading
things up and bulleting
information almost as a
description.
The best way to understand
the message that is being
perceiving is by tagging a
picture and deciding if the
quality is sustainable for
further processing.
Technology is a real modern use of
learning that for me personally allowed
for expansion upon the class.
Putting the tools in our own personal
hands to find tools and understand the
movement to nobleness allows for
knowledge to flow.
PowerPoint and other software's creates
an easy to read instruction set that gets
the point across.
When presenting using public speaking,
the communication process was much
easier with the use of PowerPoint.
It organized everything in a civil manner
that could be flipped through with the
use of speech to present the topic with
ease.
8. The class started and was organized in a manner that was
simple and well organized.
It continued in a projective manner in the Planning,
Development, Quality Assessment, Publication, and
conclusion just like the end slide. There is a process of
steps that must be followed correctly that makes the class
in ease.
The order creates simplicity and knowledge upon
everything. Professor Jacobsen allowed for this class to
understood and enjoyable.
Conclusion
