Chick-fil-A Action Plan
The Chick-fil-a organization hired Team C as consultants to address needs this organization feels needs resolving. Team C was able to develop a project plan that will address the needs of this organization. Team C created an action plan to help the organization better understand the process of the project plan. In this action plan summary, Team C will discuss the data collection process, the different measures used to for the action plan, taking the data collection and converting into monetary value. Team C will discuss how to take all this information and utilized it terms of training and development for Chick-fil-A.
Data Collection
Collecting data for the project is done to assess how well the project is meeting, or has met the stated goals and objectives. According to Shays (2005), “Data collection is a delaying tactic to decide where to begin" (pg1) There are multiple ways to collect the data including questionnaires, surveys, interviews, and focus groups are types of data collection that require human interaction. Collection methods would be ideal in helping the project team evaluate the differences in customer service, before and after the training. Measurement tests, simulations, and observation are a few other ways for the researchers to collect data. Measurement tests, simulations, and observation are meant to evaluate the depth of the employees learning or practical application of the skills taught as a part of the training program. This is ideal for Chik-fil-A’s training program evaluation. Project teams must research each data collection method to ensure they have selected the best methods of collecting the data for their project, so they are able to properly assess the project's performance (Phillips et al., 2015).
Methods for Data Collection
To ensure project success, the consultant will utilize different data collecting methods. The consultants will conduct interviews with top management to gather input at the reaction level. These interviews will provide a clear understanding of how main stockholders and top management perceive the project, how useful do they believe it will be and how effective do they perceive the chosen communication methods. Feedback on the reaction level is essential to ensure customer satisfaction.
Data collection for the learning level will consist of a small survey given to the trainees. A small survey with mainly close-ended questions will provide information on how the new training program skills are received. Addressing the learning objective will be key in knowing if the trainees understand the new tools and if the learning process is being effective.
Application and implementation level are to measure the various times during the project. Prior every location manager is trained, they will be provided with an action plan with step by steps instructions on h ...

FWD50 Agile/ Lean Workshop Slides - November 1
Ottawa Ontario, Canada. Authors/Presenters: Dan MurphyGlenn Waters, Ellen Grove, Craig Szelestowski - Thanks Team
The document summarizes a student group project to improve communication between university facilities management and other departments regarding capital needs analyses. The group met with the Director of Facilities who outlined issues with the current process, including a lack of clear communication channels and procedures. The group then designed new forms and a training process to standardize budget proposal submissions and approvals. An opportunity analysis estimated the project could save over $14,000 per year by reducing time spent on the current inefficient process. The group created a storyboard illustrating how the new capital needs analysis process would work from initial budget proposals to final approvals.

‘…the talent and energy that he brings to an engagement is first rate. I have worked directly with Chip over the
last several years both remotely (me in Middle East and him in the United States) and on an overseas
assignment in the Middle East. I find Chip’s Project Management technical skill as some of the best that I have
worked with. Shortly after his arrival on the project I elevated him above the other Managers I had in the
Program Control Office to lead the team. He provided great leadership while at the same time provided the
client with high quality products. His is very detailed oriented and any delivery work that I produced I always
ran it through him first. I have also found that his interpersonal skills working with multiple cultures
simultaneously are also of the highest caliber. We work on a project where there is daily interaction with
Americans, Saudis, French, Germans, Brits, and Filipinos and Chip worked extremely well with the diversity. It
was always a pleasure to watch him switch between various languages which always put people at ease. I
highly recommend Chip for an international assignment and know that the Firm and our clients will receive
great value…’

‘…Chip rolled off US Administration Project today…but I wanted to let you know what an outstanding job he
has done for us. The client has been consistently elated with his work, and I am confident that his work has set
the foundation for the client to fully institutionalize their SOX program. We’ve initiated discussions with the
Firm’s leadership…and presented Chip’s work to them. They are impressed with it as well, and my hope is that
they will move in a similar direction with the SOX PMO formalization…he has been a first-rate asset to our
team…’

‘…He has provided exceptional support to the delivery teams and he has done an excellent job of thinking
ahead regarding what the team(s) will need going forward. William (Chip) is the best manager I have ever
worked with and he needs to be rewarded for his performance and commitment to the client and the Firm...’

‘…Chip was asked to implement a QA process for the Middle East program and did an excellent job. In this
capacity, he developed the QA framework, interfaced with key leadership across the account, and conducted
various document reviews from formal deliverables to draft task order proposals. Because of his efforts in this
area, we have much better internal controls and much better work product going to our customer. Secondly,
Chip was very active with me in January on the Strategic Planning for the Middle East Account. His input and
perspective were greatly valued and he also played a key role in building some of the Strategic planning
documents such as the organization alignment charts and accountability matrix…’
Senior Vice President, Global Delivery Excellence, Big 4 Consulting Firm, Arlington, VA.
‘… It has been a distinct pleasure to work with Chip on both the Middle East Program Management Office
(PMO) and Middle East Development Program tasks these last 12 months. I first met Chip in January of 2007,
when I transferred into the PMO as the Deputy Program Manager. In this role, my first task was to establish a
PMP along with the 12 component plans that supported it. This task was to be accomplished in a little less
than a 3 week period.

Chip was instrumental in our ability to successfully deliver that document which is now being leveraged by the MENA
PMO as they struggle to establish an overarching PMO capability for Emerging Markets… Chip and I worked in tandem
to direct junior staff members in development of a Resource Management Plan, Deployment Guide, Communications
Plan, Subcontractor Management Plan, and Schedule Management Plan. Most of these junior Consultants had never
written a plan of any sort and required enormous amounts of direction and guidance. In parallel to serving as the
critical pillar of support for managing the junior staff, Chip took ownership of the Quality Management plan and co-
authored the Risk and Performance Management Plans. In addition he served as the primary Quality Assurance
Review Authority prior to pink, red and gold team reviews.
On the wings of completing the PMP, Chip and I were pulled into the Middle East task effort and charged with co-
managing the efforts of over 30 people in development of 2 major RFP’s for a highly visible international client. These
RFP's enveloped requirements for the modernization of an entire country in order to achieve enhanced National
Security. Chip was the one steadfast member of the team, always there to support the immediate (mine, and the
internal customer) need no matter what time of day or night. There were many Friday nights, Saturdays, and Sundays
throughout the winter and spring that Chip would call me at work, after having driven back to Connecticut to "check-
in" with me. He would stay on conference call with me, while we did a divide and conquer approach to deliver the
ever emerging request of our internal client. Chip does not wait for work to come to him - he thinks ahead and takes
action to obtain or seek out the information that either he or his team members may need to do their jobs in a timely
manner.

As part of his regular duties…Chip has been a key contributor and author to 2 major Requests for Proposals
which included development of the Past Performance sections, Evaluation Criteria, Instructions to Bidders and
Proposal Instructions. He identified several hundred performance measures in support of SME efforts to
develop technical and performance specifications which were incorporated as Appendices to the both RFPs.
He supported identification of the Scope of Work, mission needs statement, and concept of operations for the
overall Middle East Program. He authored the governing Quality Assurance and Peer Review Process… and was
identified by the EMD as the most qualified to conduct Peer Review of over 20 major program deliverables
leading up to delivery of the final Middle East client RFP… as a testament to our success, the RFP was released
by our client to the Bidders and time…
In the midst of all of this, Chip never hesitated to ask me if he could support my workload, as I attempted to
continue supporting both the PMO and Middle East efforts; which I took him up on more times than I can
recall.
Because of Chips exceptional performance…he continues to be an asset to the Middle East Program and has
recently been identified by the Account Executive as the most qualified resource to establish and manage the
program Quality Assurance capability in country. Chip Performs at the Senior Manager level and it is my hope
that he will be recognized with the promotion he very much deserves…’

Pitcher directed the development of a Program Management Plan for a program in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Ministry of Interior Modernization Program. Pitcher assumed various roles and responsibilities as needed and
assisted the Deputy Program Manager in developing an extensive PMP, two complex requests for proposals (RFP)
and a Quality Management Plan in a period of three weeks. The uniqueness of the uncertainty of the direction,
the short delivery interval and very compatible work ethics of Pitcher and the Deputy Program Manager made
this a work effort of which to be proud. Pitcher's work effort required little direction or supervision, through
leadership and get it done attitude.
