Fundamental Problem
Current ways of getting a Reference check done have these
disadvantages:

1. Time consuming.

2. Does not scale well.

3. Cost is not quantifiable.

4. Data analysis is very cumbersome and data is not kept archived for
later use and any valuable insights are lost as they are not tracked
over time.
The Product
The Team tried to pitch that our application will be an additional
valuable instrument in the tool-set that allows to focus valuable
time on more productive work. This approach of ours seemed to
mitigate the concerns and our prospective customers seem to be
happy to try our product.


Market for this is sufficiently large to sustain a business built
around this.
ReferenceBook seems to be a viable business solution that will be in
demand by recruiters/recruitment agencies and HR managers.


We can bring in a large level of automation and analysis in addition
to making reference checking process more efficient by providing an
enabling platform resulting in an improvement in the quality of
employees hired.
We are targeting two markets, to start with USA and
Australia, as potential customers in these countries have
expressed interest to sign up as beta customers.

We are also focusing on India with initial interest on only
the following industry sectors: Hospitality, IT & ITES,
HealthCare, Automobile & Manufacturing, Banking &
Financial Services.
Total Market in US:
Job changes : 34 million a year
Based on this ,Number of Reference checks performed is : 68 million

Total Market in Australia
Job Changes: 2.9 million a year
Number of Reference checks performed is: 5.8 million

Total Market in India
Job Changes: >5 million
Number of Reference checks performed is >: 10 million
We intend to tap into the India market 6 months/year after launching it in the US and
Australian market.
Our focus is to tap into about 2.5% of this market in the first
couple of years to perform a million or more reference checks
for our clients.

We are targeting handling 500,000 reference checks every year
or put in another way, we want to help out in 250,000 job
changes a year which is approx = 20,000 jobs a month.

As we interact more with our target customers and learn we
hope to incorporate that into our product in the hope of serving
a need of our customers.
