This document discusses archival HTTP redirection and retrieval policies. It presents an experiment analyzing the HTTP status codes and redirection relationships of 10,000 live web URIs and their archived mementos. The results show that while 52% of URIs had consistent 200 status codes for mementos, 48% saw mixed status codes or redirection over time. New retrieval policies are proposed that first attempt to retrieve mementos following live redirections, and second expand timemaps by following redirections between mementos. The policies showed success in retrieving additional mementos in some cases.
