The soldier failed their Army Physical Fitness Test, scoring below standards in pushups, sit-ups, and the 2-mile run. As a result, they will be enrolled in a special populations physical training program, flagged until they pass the APFT, required to submit weekly physical training logs, and barred from unit sports teams and reenlistment. They have 3 months to retake and pass the APFT. Failure of two consecutive tests could result in separation from the military. The soldier was counseled on improving their physical conditioning through additional personal training and offered the opportunity to train with their supervisor. Progress will be monitored.
