- 2. Concept Join our contestants as they are on a search for the clues to escape the Library like maze. Challenges are quite challenging and tiring, so contestants need to set up camp to rest for the night. They’ll need to gain help from people they meet like housekeepers, maids and Liberians. Will they be good or Evil?

ITV Research ITV is quite known for it’s reality TV shows, most were quite popular, like; Stars in Their Eyes, Dancing On Ice, The X Factor, Britain’s Got Talent, and even I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! All these shows have been a big hit and they all belong on ITV, so this is why our show may become a big hit due to the channels past of Reality TV
- 4. History of ITV First started broadcasting in 1955 This channel broadcasts shows like, Britain's Got Talent, Soaps like Coronation Street , some dramas and also quite a few reality TV shows and talk shows and a game show or two
- 5. Main Summary (pt 1) Two groups of 4 put into enclosed area, abandoned mansion/ library and need to find there way out. Need to find out information for quiz's which reveal clues to where supplies/items to gain entry to specific rooms to advance. Traps are placed across the building to try and surprise/trap group members. Teams will need to work together to help the group member out of the trap.
- 6. Main Summary (pt 2) They may come across typical Mansion/Library characters e.g. Maids, Janitors, Liberians, and a Ghost (Will offer bonuses for tasks/items or act as a shop/delivery or do an evil deed) The show will start at 9:00pm for 1 hour or an hour and a half (Profanity may be included)

- Hi, my name’s Daniel, and I’m here to try and pitch a reality TV Show called the Test
- When you first catch eye of it in a TV Guide you’ll see something like this. ‘Join our contestants as they are on a search for the clues to escape the Library like maze. Challenges will test our contestant’s skills, wits and strengths so they can escape to the safe zone outside, the Encampment where they’ll be rewarded for their efforts.’
- I decided to put my show on ITV, because I believe that this will be the best choice for my Reality TV genre. ITV is quite popular due to it’s reality TV, so it’s a good kick starter. For example, Stars in their eyes, The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent and so on. All the shows above have been very successful for the channel so it’s a great idea to start with.
- Here’s a brief History of ITV. It first started broadcasting in 1955, and first started broadcasting soaps, it didn’t hit till later on in their career where they suddenly struck the Reality TV jackpot therefore raising their popularity even further.
- The show will consist of two groups of 4 people trying to make their way through a cluttered run down mansion, during their escape they’ll come across clues, supplies and even traps, which could help or interrupt the team. Team members will need to help out their fellow team members with these clues or these traps, for a more swifter escape, they’ll be rewarded for their efforts, if they’re quick enough.
- Upon their escape they may come across typical day-to-day mansion folk, like maids, Liberians or even janitors. These folk can reward, trick or even sell you items so team members need to be careful with who they trust within the mansion walls. Due to jump scare moments with traps, spooky environments and difficult tasks, there may be some profanity used, so the show will start on ITV after the watershed time of 9:00pm with a duration of 1 hour and 30 minutes.
- I believe that using presenters that are popular for other reality shows may be a good idea, all though it may seem repetitive. I’m using ‘Britain’s Got More Talent’s’ host Stephen Mulhern because he adds a sense of comedy in the show and he is easily recognizable on ITV. Contestants within the show will be day-to-day people, and if the show has any specials it may include a Celebrity Special for the fans. Challenges will be like, item hunting, puzzle solving, riddles and even quizes.
- Introduction is as followed.It will start with the host introducing us (the viewer) to the show and what they’ll expect in the next 90 minutes and then it cuts to the opening sequence closely followed by the introduction of the contestants giving a brief bio, for example name, age, where they’re from, occupation. The challenges are split into sections, first comes the finding item task where they need to find a certain something to gain access to the next room. After the first task is completed they’ll go onto the next task which is the metal challenge, riddles/quiz's, they have a time limit so if they complete the two tasks in time they’ll go onto a bonus challenge which will give the contestants a chance for extra supplies. When the show’s drawing to an end, contestants will set up camp where they are in the mansion and stay there for the night where it then cuts to the presenter backtracking the episode and seeing off the audience and the credits roll.
- The look of the mansion will be a spooky look that will give viewers and contestants chills looking at it, gives a sense that it’s haunted, inside will be abandoned and cluttered therefore making it slightly more difficult to complete tasks. Encampment outside will look like a refugee camp giving a sense of safety plus giving off a role playing effect, like they’ve been rescued.
- Typical advertising will include using the base channel, ITV to broadcast the coming soon effect. Time the advert will be aired shall be 8pm on weekdays. Also, because Youtube is so successful, there can be a 30 seconds to a minute long advert before you watch a video on Youtube. Another good idea to get the show out there is to give people a chance of taking part in the show by releasing offers on drink cans and bottle, crisps and other snacks. This may spread the word a bit more quickly and the thrill if winning may attract some people.
- The ITV viewer population consists of reality TV fans waiting on their next show, season to come out. The show may attract my target audience because of the thrill of ‘are they going to do this in time, will they get out?’ This is why I added the aspect of time to give off this element. The type of genre may draw in may target audience because puzzle, role playing and survival are quite popular in the media market currently, like The Hunger Games.
- After the show there will be and after show, similar to Britain’s Got More Talent mixed with Doctor Who Confidential. This show will give you a brief idea of ‘how they do it’ like how the CGI was done or some special effects and may even show you how the trap worked and was triggered, also can give an interview if the lowest scoring contestant or team and show their feelings and/or thoughts on the situation. On the ITV website or Youtube 3 – 5 minute clips of funny, random or unusual moments from the show. This will give more of a light hearted feel to the show, also it’ll attract more viewers.
