The reactable is a tangible musical instrument developed by researchers at the Music Technology Group at Universitat Pompeu Fabra. It consists of round objects placed on a round table that users manipulate to generate and modify sounds. The objects represent different musical components like sound generators, processors, and mixers. Sensors in the table track the objects' positions and orientations to dynamically route audio and control signals between connected objects based on proximity. The goal was to create an intuitive, learnable, and collaborative electronic instrument controlled through natural tangible interactions.
