Materials and Methods:A descriptive study was conducted by using a Questionnaire comprising of 20 questions to collect the data pertaining to awareness and knowledge of BLS, attitude towards BLS among the 3rd, final year dental students and the faculty members. After excluding the incomplete response sheets which were none in the present study, the data from 212 members were subjected to the analysis. The Main outcome measure was the over all score in the BLS knowledge. Knowledge of BLS was assessed as per the data contained in the Basic life support manual from American Heart Association. Results: Out of 212 members 109 were 3rd year students and 85 were final year students and 18 faculty members. The overall knowledge score was 33.7%. Overall results were poor with less than minimum knowledge on the topic BLS. A score of less than 50% was evident in the study indicating a poor knowledge of BLS among both the students and the faculty.The range of correct answers were 3-11 among students and 4-6 among the staffs. A significant difference (p<0.05) was observed between students and faculty members. Conclusion: Present study reports just 33.7 % participants had knowledge regarding BLS necessitates immediate attention of training of dental students and faculties regarding BLS.

ABSTRACT
OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the factors causing absenteeism among
undergraduate medical students from lectures in a medical college.
METHODS: This cross-sectional study was conducted at Aziz Fatimah Medical
& Dental College, Faisalabad, Pakistan during the month of July and August
2017. The participants were the medical students of the three batches (third
year, fourth year and final year) of the college. There were 308 students, with
more than 50% attendance in the last semester. These students were also
attending clinical classes. They were asked to fill the Likert’s Scale based
questionnaire. This study was done to find out the factors which influence the
students not to attend the lectures in medical college.
RESULTS: Out of 308 medical students in three batches, a total of 267
completed the questionnaire; the response rate was 86.6%. Mean age was
21.14±3.4 years. There were 105 (39.3%) male and 162 (60.6%) female
students. The two most common reasons for not attending the lectures were
preference of self-studying over attending lectures (n=123, 46%) and poor
teaching style by lecturers (n=128, 47.9%).
CONCLUSION: This study proved that the problem of absenteeism is
increasing nowadays in medical students. There are multiple factors of
absenteeism including bad construction of the lectures and preferring self-study
over taking lectures.

Objectives: The current study aims at exploring the possi-bility of aligning peer assessment, audiovisuals, and medical case-report extracts (vignettes) in medical terminology teaching. In addition, the study wishes to highlight the effectiveness of audio materials and medical history vi-gnettes in preventing medical students' comprehension, listening, writing, and pronunciation errors. The study also aims at reflecting the medical students' attitudes towards the teaching and learning process.
Methods: The study involved 161 medical students who received an intensive medical terminology course through audio and medical history extracts. Peer assessment and formative assessment platforms were applied through fake quizzes in a pre- and post-test manner. An 18-item survey was distributed amongst students to investigate their attitudes and feedback towards the teaching and learning process. Quantitative and qualitative data were analysed using the SPSS software.
Results: The students did better in the posttests than on the pretests for both the quizzes of audios and medical vignettes showing a t-test of -12.09 and -13.60 respectively. Moreover, out of the 133 students, 120 students (90.22%) responded to the survey questions. The students gave positive attitudes towards the application of audios and vignettes in the teaching and learning of medical terminology and towards the learning process.
Conclusions: The current study revealed that the teaching and learning of medical terminology have more room for the application of advanced technologies, effective assess-ment platforms, and active learning strategies in higher education. It also highlights that students are capable of carrying more responsibilities of assessment, feedback, and e-learning.

This study aimed to evaluate the learning styles among healthcare students and to study the relationship with their academic achievement. This cross-sectional study was conducted among 137 healthcare students from six different courses. Data was collected using a self-administered questionnaire and developed based on the original visual, aural/auditory, read/write, and kinesthetic (VARK) assessment. The questionnaire was divided into two sections: the demographic status and the learning style perspective. A total of 119 respondents (86.8%) has chosen unimodal as their learning styles, while the rest of the 18 respondents (13.2%) choose multimodal as their preferred learning method. Among the unimodal learning styles, visual (32%) and reading (26%) were most preferred among respondents. The auditory and kinesthetic methods of learning were less and accounted for 10% to 20%. Notably, in multimodal learning styles preferences, 4% of students prefer a combination learning style of visual and kinesthetic methods. There was no significant relationship between learning styles and academic achievement using Pearson’s Chi-square test (p>0.05). Hence, both were independent of one another. CONTEXT Ethnicity-related differences in
clinical grades exist. Broad sampling in
assessment of clinical competencies involves
multiple assessments used by multiple
assessors across multiple moments. Broad
sampling in assessment potentially reduces
irrelevant variances and may therefore
mitigate ethnic disparities in clinical grades.
OBJECTIVES Research question 1 (RQ1): to
assess whether the relationship between
students’ ethnicity and clinical grades is
weaker in a broadly sampled versus a global
assessment. Research question 2 (RQ2): to
assess whether larger ethnicity-related
differences in grades occur when supervisors
are given the opportunity to deviate from the
broadly sampled assessment score.
METHODS Students’ ethnicity was classified
as Turkish/Moroccan/African, Surinamese/
Antillean, Asian, Western, and native Dutch.
RQ1: 1667 students (74.3% native Dutch
students) were included, who entered medical
school between 2002 and 2004 (global
assessment, 818 students) and between 2008
and 2010 (broadly sampled assessment, 849
students). The main outcome measure was
whether or not students received ≥3 times a
grade of 8 or higher on a scale from 1 to 10
in five clerkships. RQ2: 849 students (72.4%
native Dutch students) were included, who
were assessed by broad sampling. The main
outcome measure was the number of grade
points by which supervisors had deviated from
broadly sampled scores. Both analyses were
adjusted for gender, age, (im)migration status
and average bachelor grade.
RESULTS Research question 1: ethnicity-
related differences in clinical grades were
smaller in broadly sampled than in global
assessment, and this was also seen after
adjustments. More specifically, native Dutch
students had reduced probabilities (0.87–0.65)
in broadly sampled as compared with global
assessment, whereas Surinamese (0.03–0.51)
and Asian students (0.21–0.30) had increased
probabilities of having ≥3 times a grade of 8 or
higher in five clerkships. Research question 2:
when supervisors were allowed to deviate from
original grades, ethnicity-related differences in
clinical grades were reintroduced.
CONCLUSIONS Broadly sampled assessment
reduces ethnicity-related differences in grades.

Background: Eating disorders (ED) have a peak rate of onset in school-aged children. Little is known about pupils’ experiences of ED within a school setting.
Method: Five hundred and eleven 11- to 19-year-old school pupils completed an online questionnaire exploring their experiences of ED (72% female, 28% male). Responses were analysed using content analysis principles.
Results: Of the participants, 38% had a current or past ED, 49% of these had never received a formal diagnosis. Of the respondents, 59% saw a need to raise ED

environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
