Due to the success initially achieved within the manufacturing sector, the company quickly expanded
to cover the utilities, mining, oil and gas, health, military, transport, building and insurance sectors.

measures to eliminate as much as possible the monetary leaks that unscheduled maintenance and break

Repair and Refurbishment Services
Almost any industrial, utilities, resources or transportation entity will use electronic and process control
equipment to manufacture the finished product or deliver the resource or service. Industrial electronic
equipment has a much longer useful life expectancy than the consumer electronic goods. They are also much
more expensive, complex and most of the times specifically developed for a particular
application/process/industry. Nevertheless, the Original Equipment
Manufacturers (OEM) have to come to the market with a new product
much more often than the life expectancy the end user has when
purchasing the product. When a complex or expensive electronic system
experience a failure in a subsection and the OEM does not provide support
or spare parts, the only option is to upgrade the entire system. Now, we all
know that this is not always feasible and by all means one shouldn’t have to
spend unnecessary capital funds and loose production because one
electronic circuit board failed!
This is where Rom-Control can help. We have the skills and techniques
that allow us to repair any type of electronic system from PLC, DCS, CNC,
and VSD to operator consoles, instrumentation and test equipment. Our
professional team of engineers and technicians can repair any make, brand,
irrespective of age, even in the absence of schematics or wiring diagrams!
Our Service
The value added aspect of our service in addition to the repair aspect is the
refurbishment and “rejuvenation” of the electronic circuit boards we service; this process consists of the
following steps:
1. We will take details photos of the PCB and record the details in our database.
2. We will catalogue the card and apply a barcode label for future identification.
3. We will clean the card using an ultrasonic bath cleaning system.
4. We will identify the fault(s) and replace the faulty components.
5. We will identify any faults (not visible to the naked eye) on the board, tracks, joints, connectors and
perform the appropriate repair.
6. We will identify and remove any signs of corrosion.
7. We will proactively replace all other components that we know from experience, will most likely fail
in the future.
8. We will clean the card again, to remove any organic or flux residues.
9. We will bench test the card.
10. As an option, we can apply conformal coating that will protect the card against moisture or dust.

Rom-control Pty Ltd can fault find/diagnose any electronic circuit board. Our engineers have extended
knowledge in fault finding techniques. We leverage their technical abilities with the provision of the most
sophisticated testing equipment like In Circuit Testing, Functional and Signature analysis, Boundary Scanning
and Jtag testing.
We also have the ability to test 3 phase systems as well as “live test” a significant number of process control
