4. Operations of The Salvation Army are supervised by trained, commissioned officers. They proclaim the gospel and have dedicated their lives, skills, and service completely to God in a very rote way. Lay members who subscribe to the doctrines of The Salvation Army are called soldiers. Along with officers, they are known as Salvationists. 10. Need in the Community We are here to help all mankind that is in need. We help disaster victims. We have amazing youth programs to help keep teens focused on a bright future. We have rehabilitation centers to help thos that need to get clean We provide job opportunity for those who live in our rehabilitation homes called job therapy.

11. The Salvation Army is helping people to think Critically about their life's and how to put them back together again. They teach them to: Self-regulate by help keeping those in the rehabilitation homes by having them analyze their life and helping them set small goals for themselves to accomplish. 14. My father came to America in 1968 from Cuba. On his way here he had nothing to claim but the clothes on his back. No toys, no pictures, no memories. At the age of 9, he remembers the warm loving faces of The Salvation Army team. Dressed in bright red, this amazing group provided my father and his family with shelter as soon as they arrived and new toys for Christmas. My father would always share with my family this story of how the Salvation Army was the biggest blessing they received coming to America. My Personal Connection
