The ResilientAfrica Network (RAN) brings together African universities and development experts to strengthen resilience in vulnerable communities across Africa through applying a common framework to assess resilience, developing and testing innovative interventions, and sharing findings globally. The network is led by Makerere University and includes regional Resilience Innovation Labs (RILabs) based at universities in Uganda, South Africa, Ghana, and Ethiopia that are working with multiple partner universities and 18 communities to better understand dimensions of resilience and develop solutions to strengthen communities' ability to recover from shocks. RAN aims to have both direct impact in communities and contribute to the broader literature on resilience through collaborative research
