ABSA Bank Projects (Sep 2013 to Till Date)
 ABSA Credit Risk Datamart Build (Ongoing): Currently leading the development and testing team
for building the Semantic layer and the Credit Risk Datamart using Teradata which will facilitate credit
risk reporting. The Semantic Layer will integrate two different data warehouse environments (AIW &
EDW) thus maintaining End-to-end data lineage and metadata.
Targeted Results: One Africa Data Warehouse which integrates the entire Africa region and works in
single Informatica - Teradata platform, thereby reducing the licensing cost held by Barclay’s group for
ABINITO and Oracle.
 ABSA SAS Consolidation: Consolidate all existing legacy SAS environments (including desktop &
satellite SAS solutions) to a sustainable Enterprise SAS utility platform
Results: Significant reduction in maintenance cost and scalability improvement for SAS users. Realized
cost avoidance of ~ ZAR 56 Mil in Base SAS licensing fees & penalties. Alignment to ABSA BIIS Global
standards and processes with operational excellence.
CITI Bank Projects (Jan 2008 to Aug 2013)
 Next Gen Mexico Cards Datawarehouse: The project was implementation of Datawarehouse solution
across multiple countries for the client. The legacy Datawarehouse existed in various countries, where
the client operated out of, was not standardized and had various drawbacks around its reliability,
performance, and scalability etc.
Results: A generic solution was built to be rolled out globally, with small amount of additional
customization as needed by any country. Across globe, implementation was completed in around 14
countries as of Aug 2012. The project involved development and enhancement of the said generic
solution, and its implementation, developed in IBM Datastage and Teradata.
 EDW Brazil Credit Cards: The main objective of this project is to merge Credicard to Citi Bank, using
Citibank applications. Data Warehouse (DWH) solution is aimed to support this strategic initiative that
should act as a Centralized Data Repository and to provide an enhanced control on the Data
Environment.
Results: Built a robust card model for the existing Citicards system as a STAR Schema approach. This
solution also streamlined "Data Retention and Discarding policy", thereby providing privilege based access to
secured, accurate data and added the efficiency to Brazil's Business Processes and producing timely MIS
reports.
