RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position: HSE Supervisor Reports to: Senior HSE Engineer Section: Site HSE Direct
Reports: Safety Officers and Asst Safety Officers Internal Working Relations:
Construction site supervision External Working Relations: Client, Subcontractors and
equipment deliveries.
Key Objectives of the Job:
Supervise the day to day activities of Safety Officers Asst Safety Officers and Security
staff. Produce and verify HSE documentation and certification. Respond to incidents and
emergency situation should they arise.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1
. Interface with area supervisors on a daily basis to provide proactive technical
advice for field activities and understand the requirements for Safety Officer cover,
especially for high risk activities.
2. Delegate responsibilities to Safety Officers to provide an effective safety
monitoring and supervisor support program.
3. Assist the construction execution team in the preparation of risk assessments
and job safety analysis.
4. Verify third party certification for loose lifting gear, pressure vessels and inspect
new equipment brought to site to confirm they are fit for purpose.

5. Ensure safety cover for high risk activities; confined space entry gas testing and
air monitoring, lifting activities, work at height, movement of abnormal loads etc.
6. Supervise Safety Officers in the production of pertinent toolbox talks with the
assistance of responsible construction supervision including the identification of
proactive and reactive site issues for communication to the workforce and collection of
constructive feedback.
7. Associate with the permit to work coordinator, HSE Engineer (training) and
security supervisor in the performance of their daily activities.
8. Collate information received from supervision and Safety Officers arising from
the site hazard identification program (including Subcontractors). Including; non-
conformances, corrective actions, and preventive actions.
9. Investigate unsafe acts and conditions and provide solutions to prevent
recurrences.
10. Lead Safety Officers in an immediate response to incidents and emergency
situations that occur on site.
11. Ensure safety posters, hazard flashes, site safety campaign promotional
material and the results of safety incentive schemes are prominently placed on site.
12. Provide a daily summary report of field HSE issues and activities including;
HSE documentation; risk assessments, JSAs, toolbox talks produced, etc, for the HSE
Manager.
