My life Hi !  my name’s Morus Alba, I’m from occidental Asia, My Kingdom is : Plantae My Division is : Magnoliophyta My Class is : Magnoliopsida My Order is : Rosales My Family is : Moraceae My Genus is: Morus My Species is : M. alba
My trunk My trunk is brown and Rough. I’m a bit thin. I have many branches and a round crown. Worms and birds live in my trunk.
My leaves I have broadly oval leaves, with sharp apex. Semi truncated at the base and oblique. Toothed edge or irregularly oval. My leaves are light green in summer.
My flowers and fruits I have small flowers that grow forming tight and elongated spikes. After the flowering period (May or June) there arise the compound fruits formed by small narrowly grouped drupes, between 2-3 cm of length, of white color to reddish. The fruits of Morus nigra and Morus rubra are those of better flavour, whereas those of white Morus turn out to be tasteless.
My use and my culture I‘m cultivated by my leaves, only one I feed of the worms of it sedates, whose cocoons are in use for making it silk. I come from Asia and I was were not known in West until the 6th century when the Nestorian monks established the route of silk.
