Heavy Equipment Operator
If you can t play the guitar and sing in Nashville, you might as well just be a construction worker
(Patrick Carney). This quote is said by the drummer for the The Black Keys in reference to
someone who can t sing or play the guitar. A heavy equipment operator is a valuable asset to any
construction crew.He ll help dig the foundation, unload the truck, move earth and dig pipe lines.
These are some things a heavy equipment operator does on the job site. Being a heavy equipment
operator is an excellent job choice because it allows one to work on different equipment, earn a
solid pay, and have a good work environment. Being a heavy equipment operator allows one to

Many people think construction workers don t get paid well. Well that s true if you re a
unskilled tradesman. Luckily only the skilled tradesmen are allowed to work on the heavy
equipement. The salary for a heavy equipment operator is between $28,824 and $71,124(Career
overview). That means they get paid $12.75 to $28.29 an hour(Career overview). Heavy
equipment operators are lucky they get paid vacation. They can be relaxing on a beach and still
get paid. They can t do that ,it s like used for if their wife is having a child they can stay home
and help take care of their wife and kid. Like any other job they get workers comp so if they get
hurt on the job. They can still get the money they deserved while while they are recovering.

close to a holiday or the crew has been doing a good job. The bonus pay is between $o.oo to
$2,071(Bureau of labor statistics). They also get paid overtime. The overtime pay range is
between $18.op to $39.40 an hour(Career on stop). Since there is a pay tax some of their money
is taken in out of their pay. A final benefit of being a heavy equipment operator is there is a good
work environment.Equipment operators work the regular construction hours 6 to 5 or 8 to 6. Those
are pretty long hours. Some people enjoy those hours those hours are rugged doing some physical

Maria Montessori Essay
Maria Montessori was considered ahead of her time. She was born in Chiaravalle, in the
province of Ancona, Italy in 1870 to an educated but not wealthy family. Despite her father s
wishes and society s conservative ways at the time, she studied science. She was the first female
physician in Italy when she graduated medical school in 1896. She worked mostly with the poor
because she saw vast potential in them. She was an unselfish person and she traveled Italy
speaking of women s rights and child labor law reforms. Not too long after graduating she was
chosen to represent Italy in two different women s conferences. They were at Berlin in 1896 and
also in London in 1900. Maria was appointed a professor of anthropology at the University of...

There is no set level that all children must follow; they learn when they explore by themselves.
This method leaves children with freedom where they can learn self discipline in a place designed
specifically for their developmental needs. Teachers would have a part in the education of children
though even though 80% of it was up to the children. Teachers are to make sure that children are
presented with the right extent of material at the right time. In other words, if a child is too
advanced for one activity, a teacher would present a new one to fit them, and vice versa. Maria
believed if her methods were applied to public schools the results would be even better than the
traditional method results. Since the government didn t let her, she started to work with poor
daycare children. She doubted that her methods would work under these conditions but she had
shocking results. She discovered if the children were in an orderly place to work, they will respect
that and care for it. They are able to learn longer and better than in an everyday setting. In
Montessori preschool, five areas make up the prepared learning environment. These areas include
practical life, the sensorial area, mathematics, and cultural activities. In the elementary program,
areas include integration, presentation of knowledge, presentation of the formal scientific
languages, the use of visual aids, mathematic curriculum, Montessori trained teachers, emphasis on

Did The Three Witches Contribute To The Downfall Of Macbeth
Did the three witches really contribute to the downfall of Macbeth? I believe the witches hardly
contributed to Macbeth s downfall, however how innocent are they in this event? The witches tell
Macbeth his prophecy and promise he will become a high ruler saying All hail, Macbeth! Hail to
you, thane of Glamis! All hail, Macbeth! Hail to thee, thane of Cawdor! All hail, Macbeth, that
shalt be king hereafter! . These are possibly the words that had helped start the downfall of
Macbeth, giving him the idea that Macbeth could possibly rule one day. The witches are master
manipulators, they did not use and magic, blackmail of physical force in order to convince
Macbeth what he must do in order to become king, they did not give him the idea of murder,...

Lady Macbeth contributes largely to the downfall of Macbeth, being possibly the main cause of
the situation they are placed in with the killing of King Duncan. Lady Macbeth is a master
manipulator, she uses Macbeths love for her and insults his manhood saying things such as too
full o the milk of human kindness , meaning that Macbeth is too gentle and weak to murder
Duncan, undermining him. Lady Macbeth is a strong woman, believing kindness and sympathy
is weakness, however Macbeth is a caring and loyal man meaning Lady Macbeths mind and Will
easily overthrows Macbeths morals and will in order to gain control. Come you spirits, That

Duncan without caring shows the extent of her will to become queen and how she will stop at
nothing. Macbeth is fighting his thoughts on whether or not he wishes to kill Duncan in order to
gain control, Lady Macbeth tells Macbeth I dare do all that may become a man; who dares do

thoughts. Lady Macbeth known that Macbeth is a loyal man who loves her

Marxist Reading Of The Tempest
Even on a desolate island, political struggle between classes shape the islanders fates. In the
Tempest by William Shakespeare, the struggle for political power between classes and the dream
of being king of the island present itself. The struggle for political power results in damaging and
destructive endings for the stranded islanders. The play has clear social and political structures that
can be viewed critically with the Marxist lense. The damage and destruction from a bureaucratic
society and political system can be clearly viewed throughout the Tempest. The play allows a
Marxist reading to occur with the presence of power hungry Antonio and Stephano, oppressed
slaves, and Gonzalo s dream of being king. Deserted on an island brings opportunities to climb the

terrible and harmful results of a hierarchical political system. Stephano, the drunk butler, takes
Caliban as his slave and wants to be king of the island. Stephano is willing to murder Prospero to

The Synthesis Of Most Coagulation Factors And Inhibitors
Liver has many haemostatic functions including the synthesis of most coagulation factors and
inhibitors as well as fibrinolytic factors. The balance between procoagulant and anticoagulant
factors is essential to prevent excessive blood loss from injured vessels and to prevent spontaneous
thrombosis(11).The global effect of liverdisease with regard to hemostasis is therefore complex,
so that patients with advanced liver disease can experience severe bleeding or even thrombotic
complications(12).In our study as regards presence of co morbid factors namely DM and
hypertension, the prevalence of DM and hypertension was higher in PVT group than non PVT
group, these results match the findings reported by Martinelli et al.(13) who clarified that
hypertension and DM were associated with increased risk of PVT. That finding may be attributed
to the association of dyslipidemia with diabetes and increased risk of atherosclerosis. So patients
with liver cirrhosis and associated with diabetes or hypertension carry the risk for PVT more than
cirrhotics without them. The number of patients who were Smokers and users ofISSN 2320 5407

Analysis Of Mark Twain s The Adventures Of Huckleberry...
CHAPTER III HUMANISM IN MARK TWAINS NOVELS A study of Mark Twain s
Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is an adventure in understanding changes in America itself. The
book, at the center of American geography and consciousness, asks readers to reexamine
definitions of civilization and freedom, right and wrong, social responsibility and inhumanity.
Published in 1885, the novel recounts those pre civil war days when the controversy over
slavery, with designated slave and Free states, disfigured the face of America and its view of
itself as a land of the free. Both geographically and otherwise, the story is an examination of life
at the center: the center of America s premier river, the Mississippi in the middle of the
geographical United states, with slave states below, free states above, which is the route toward
freedom and escape for Huck and Jim; the center of one of the foremost conflicts on American
soil, slavery, which soon results in a civil war; the center of the coming of age of both a young
man and a nation that struggle to understand redefinitions of nationhood and freedom, right and
wrong; and the center of a shift from Romanticism to Realism in art and letters that would provide
for a new way for Americans to express and re create themselves. The novel offers an excellent
example of American picaresque fiction and meaningful use of dialect, although this dialect may be
difficult reading for students for whom English is not a first language. Although the final

Aboriginal Rights in Canada
There has been a great deal of contention over Aboriginal Rights in Canada. Much of this conflict
can be said to stem from the differences in both the philosophy and cultural systems of Aboriginal
and non aboriginal people, with much of it originating from the time of the original European
settlement of Canada(UBC Law, 2009). The focus of this conflict has been primarily on the rights
to land, sea and resources, as well as how the law is to apply to the Aboriginal peoples of Canada
(UBC Law, 2009).
Contention on law began early into the colonization period. Originally the Royal Proclamation of
1763, set by the British Crown, was in place to protect the land rights of Canadian Aboriginals
(UBC Law, 2009). The Royal Proclamation recognized Aboriginal title, and sought to establish
relations with the Aboriginals (UBC Law, 2009). Ultimately, the proclamation meant that there was
Crown recognition of land ownership, and that Aboriginal authority would continue under North
Americas new British reign (UBC Law, 2009). In order to protect these land rights, a provision
was made. The provision states that only the British Crown had the ability to acquire land in
Canada from the Aboriginal community, and could only do so by treaty (UBC Law, 2009). Thus,
the original Royal Proclamation of 1763 served to protect Aboriginal land rights under the British
Sovereignty.
However, despite British attempts to cement Aboriginal rights, the colonial governments did not
necessarily cooperate. In

The General Adaption Syndrome
The general adaption syndrome or sometimes referred to as GAS is a collection of symptoms of
a stress disease named by Hans Selye in the 1930s. GAS is defined as sequenced physiological
responses to the presence of a stressor, involving the alarm, resistance, and exhaustion stages of the
stress response. GAS is a three stage process that describes the physiological changes that the body
goes through when stressed. These stages are alarm, resistance, and exhaustion. The alarm stage is
involuntary and the changes are controlled by the hormonal and nervous system. Once you are
exposed to an event that is threatening or dangerous, the body immediately prepares for difficulty.
The hormones and nerves trigger the fight or flight response. Your

Cape Cod Erosion
Cape Cod, a little arm that sticks out into the Atlantic Ocean, is a popular destination all year
round but especially in the Summer for beachgoers. Cape Cod was formed about 18,000 years ago
when the glaciers started to melt, but how was it formed? It formed through a process called
weathering and erosion. Weathering is the process of wearing away or changing the appearance or
texture of (something) by long exposure to the water, wind, and even ice. Erosion is the process
that takes the results of weathering away by water, wind, or other natural processes. The sediment
was picked up by the glaciers and slowly eroded down towards Cape Cod. As the glaciers moved
south, the warmer weather began to melt the glaciers and they dumped their load of sediment to
form Cape Cod. In total, 3 glaciers formed Cape Cod. The middle lobe retreated first leaving
behind sediment that created the middle part of the arm (the bicep). Next the easternmost lobe
retreated and the sediment it left behind created the upper part of the arm (Provincetown). When
the last glaciers melted about 18,000 years ago leaving behind an usual looking landform. Today,
scientists know that the glaciers brought the sediment because they are all different colors, textures,
and all have different layers.
A big problem in Cape Cod is beach erosion. The first reason why the beaches are eroding is
because of rock jetties. Rock jetties that separate beaches interrupt the natural transfer of sand by the
tides and wind. The

Solar Energy. The Form Of Electromagnetic Energy Emitted
Solar ENERGY The form of electromagnetic energy emitted from the sun and generated by means
of a fusion reaction within the sun.
There are little terms regarding the solar energy. A valuable source of terms is the ISO 9488:1999
standard, which gives the solar energy into three languages:
Absorber Component of a solar collector that collects and retains as much of the radiation from the
sun as possible. A heat transfer fluid flows through the absorber or conduits attached to the absorber.
Absorptance: The ratio of absorbed to incident solar radiation to that of incident radiation.
Absorptivity is the property of absorbing radiation, possessed by all materials to varying extents.
Absorption air conditioning Achieve a cooling effect ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The vogue of these system is based on the fact that relatively simple systems are involved and
solar water heating systems are generally viable. This category of solar systems belongs to the
low temperature heat applications. The world s commercial low temperature heat consumption
is estimated to be about 10 EJ per year for hot water production, equivalent to 6 trillion m2 of
collector area . In 2005, about 140 million m2 of solar thermal collector area were in operation
around the world, which is only 2.3% of the potential . A solar water heater is a combination of a
solar collector array, an energy transfer system, and a storage tank. The main part of a solar water
heater is the solar collector array, which absorbs solar radiation and converts it to heat. This heat is
then absorbed by a heat transfer fluid (water, non freezing liquid, or air) that passes through the
collector. This heat can then be stored or used directly. Because it is understood that portions of the
solar energy system are exposed to weather conditions, they must be protected from freezing and
overheating caused by high insolation levels during periods of low energy demand.
Solar photovoltaic (PV): The transmutation of sunlight directly into electricity by using
photovoltaic cells. Photovoltaic systems can be lodge on rooftops, integrated at the top of building
designs and vehicles, or scaled up to megawatt scale power plants.

Body Shapers Can Create The Illusion Of Weight Loss Without
Body shapers help create the illusion of weight loss without actually dieting and exercising.
Body shapers are helpful to women who do not look neat and slim even though their actual
weight is healthy. Some people argue that body shapers may be harmful or a health risk, yet they
do work and do not hurt you if they are worn properly and at the correct size. Women should wear
body shapers because in society people should look nice, neat, and presentable. People should at
least try body shapers for themselves before ruling them out. Women have been wearing body
shaping undergarments for centuries. Modern day body shapers which are sometimes called
spanx, were not introduced until the year 2000. Before there were spanx, there were girdles and
corsets. The first girdles were woven garments that looked like belts. Girdles were used to shape,
reinforce and strengthen the body. The corsets came about around the sixteenth century which were
created with animal bones and then later steel rods. The corsets were tightened by pulling the laces
in the back until the desired hour glass shape was created to the women s waist. Wearing a corset
can also change the bust line, by raising the breasts upwards and shaping them, flattening the
stomach, and improving posture. Indeed, excessive corset wearing has been claimed to weaken
certain muscles, making it more difficult to maintain posture without a corset. The tightening
caused restriction to the organs, especially the lungs causing

The setting takes place in present day Texas throughout the whole novel. The main characters
were Sunny Reynolds (14) who was the main detective of the novel, and the younger sister of the
dead sister, who died in a fire in New York, but was deeply loved by everyone, Deborah Hallard a
girl who looked and pretended to be Jasmine Reynolds (the girl who died), but knew everything

because she ran away even though she was reported dead. When Jazz arrived at her family s

The Analytical Methods Applied On Security Pattern Data...
The analytical methods applied on security pattern data yield results in the form of pattern
clusters and concepts. Pattern applicability can be improved by making this classification and
resulting concept knowledge readily available to practitioners. In order to make it readily
available, the results must be represented in a suitable format. Further, it must be shared using a
tool or technology which is easy to use and does not need any special hardware or software. In this
chapter, we present our approach towards representing the gained knowledgeand sharing it so that it
can be accessed and used. The chapter outline is as follows. In Section 7.1, we present the
knowledge discovery and its adoption for the present work. The first mining tool applied is
clustering. The knowledge obtained using this mechanism is presented in Section 7.2. The second
knowledge discovery technique used in the research is FCA. Section 7.3 gives an overview of the
knowledge extracted using FCA. In Section 7.4, we give our views about knowledge sharing, the
issues which need to be considered and our solutions to address them. The representation format for
various knowledge elements is presented in Section 7.5. The knowledge search framework is
presented in Section 7.6 followed by a discussion on the implementation aspects in Section 7.7. The
chapter ends with a summary.

The s Covert Operations Against The Marxist Sandinista...
However, when Casey increased the agency s covert operations against the Marxist Sandinista
government in Nicaragua by funneling aid to the contras, the anti Sandinista rebels, Congress
became concern of the CIA involvement in Central America. Hence, in 1982 it passed Boland
amendment prohibiting the agency from aiding the contras. , Casey continued to find ways to evade
the amendment (Encyclopedia of World Biography, 2010).
On January 7, 1984 and February 29, 1984, the CIA mined several harbors in Nicaragua. Later,
during the spring of 1984, Congress found out about the agency s mining of Nicaragua s harbors,
which created a serious backlash against aiding the contras. Consequently, on August 1, 1984, the
House of Representatives passed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After Boland II became law, two ways for the administration was identified to bypass the law. One
way was to solicit third party funds from private donors or third countries, and the second way to
use the White House National Security Council (NSC) since the council was not covered under
Boland II (Ross, 2010).
To this day, the exact role of President Reagan in the Iran Contra scandal is unclear. However, it
appears that in July 1985, in a strategic attempt to build relationship with some moderate elements
within Iran s regime, and to secure the release of seven American hostages held by Iranian backed
Shiite extremists in Lebanon, Reagan ordered an operation to sell arms to Iran, which violated the
U.S. arms sales embargo against Iran s regime. Congressional committees that later investigated the
Iran Contra affair concluded that the shredding of the documents and the death of Casey, left the
record incomplete.
It appears that due to Congress s oversight on the CIA s covert operations, initially, the agency
was not officially involved in the affair. Casey later testified to Congress that he was unaware of
all the details and the agency only had a supporting role (Encyclopedia of World Biography,
2010). Nevertheless, Casey was viewed as a central figure in the agency s involvement in the
affair. From August 1985 to October 1986, seven arms shipments were sent using Israeli and CIA
planes. On December 6, 1985,

Miss Emily Questions
In William Faulkner s A Rose for Emily, the elderly woman is mysterious, suspicious, and a
murderer. Throughout the story the narrator talks a little about Emily s back story but the
narrator does go as far as telling about her child hood growing up but instead talks about her life
from the time she is a young adult until she is an elder. We start to see that there are some
unanswered questions throughout the entire story, and even with the surprise ending it still
leaves us with a lot of questions that need to be answered. Since the narrator didn t give that
much of a backstory regarding Miss Emily, we must come up with theories and conclusions to
answer our own questions. First, we see that Miss Emily is mysterious even from the very
beginning because the narrator talks about how her house used to be, white, decorated with
cupolas, and spires, and scrolled balconies . By the way the narrator describes her house it seems
that it used to be very beautiful and full of life, but now the, garages and cotton gins had
encroached and obliterated . The narrator mentions in the story is that Miss Emily had a
manservant; we start to ask ourselves the question that if she has a servant to wait on her hand and
foot than how could she let her house get in such a bad shape like that when she could have asked
her servant to keep the house tidy since she is too old to do it herself. Another thing that is
mysterious is that the narrator mentions that she hardly ever leaves her house

Body Ritual Among The Nacirema By Horace Miner
Body Ritual among the Nacirema is an article by Horace Miner that depicts a group of
tribespeople known as the Nacirema, but is referring to Americans, whose cultural beliefs are
firmly implanted in the idea that the human body is prone to illness and disfigurement. Miner
establishes how the attitudes about the body has a ubiquitous influence on Nacirema society.
Accordingly, they spend a significant part of their day in strange ritual activities to refine and
elevate conditions of the body by using magical elements. Through a satirical approach, Miner uses
this article as a way to describe American culturein a unique way by providing readers an outsider s
perspective on American rituals. Miner s purpose in writing this article was to allow the reader to
detach themselves and imagine how a foreigner might perceive the activities we deem as normal....

This instantly makes an American believe that Miner is describing any other culture but their own.
However, the revelation of this article is that it depicts everyday American health practices but in a
way the sounds ludicrous when applied to ourselves. Miner refers to the bathroom as a shrine
where private ceremonies are held, medicine cabinets as charm boxes with magical potions, and the
hospital as a temple. Healthcare providers are referred to magical practitioners; dentists are holy
mouth men, doctors are medicine men, psychologists are the listeners, and pharmacists are
herbalists. Ordinary routines such as shaving, blow drying hair, and dental procedures are
characterized as sadistic and masochistic behaviour. Correspondingly, the tone and terminology
used in this article implies that there are religious, supernatural and uncivilized factors involved in

Why Is Erik Fisher Bad
There are tons of horrible people in this world. There are people that can easily blackmail, bomb,
and kill innocent people for no reason except for making other people feel horrible. For example
Osama Bin Laden was the leader of the terrorist organization al Qaeda. al Qaeda is best known
for the horrible attacks of 9/11. I think some villains can easily can relate to how Erik Fisher is
so disregarding of others, cruel, and murderous. While there are many things that makes people
great villains Erik Fisher must have most of them. Throughout the book Erik is very
disregarding to others because he doesn t care about others sadness or pain. Without caring Erik
will just steal from people and hit people causing some severe hits. Unlike Erik, Paul tries to help
people. Paul was even willing to jump into a sinkhole and pull people out. Paul even stands up to
his brother for some things that he does but it usually doesn t end well for Paul. In contrast to
Paul, Erik becomes an even bigger villain throughout the book. So by far that makes Erik a cruel

Paranormal Sentimental Fiction In Horace Walpole s The...
This section will investigate the history and advancement behind paranormal sentimental fiction.
Paranormal sentimental fiction had its beginnings in the eighteenth century. An early noticeable
novel in this class was The Castle of Otranto composed by Horace Walpole. Walpole began an
artistic development somewhere down in riddle that increased quick drama and various imitators.
He is by and by for the most part associated with Strawberry Hill, the home he worked in
Twickenham, South West London where he resuscitated the Gothic type a few decades before his
Victorian successors, and for his Gothic novel, The Castle of Otranto.
The novel distributed in 1764 is regularly thought as the primary gothic novel, beginning an artistic
kind which would turn out to be exceptionally mainstream in the later eighteenth century and mid
nineteenth century. In this manner, Walpole, by augmentation, is apparently the antecedent to such
creators as Charles Maturin, Ann Radcliffe, Bram Stoker, Edgar Allan Poe and Daphne du Maurier.
In the introduction of the second release, Walpole makes a heuristic for perusing the novel which
without a doubt changes the way perusers are to see the novel until its end. He claims to blend the
new and old types of sentiment. The old sentiment is what is presently considered pre novel
exposition a principle component of such writing is their incredible style. There is enchantment, the
otherworldly is bottomless and they are absolutely mind boggling. The type of the new sentiment is
the thing that the books of the eighteenth century, when Walpole was composing, would ordinarily
have resembled. These books were reasonable; they were made to portray occasions and
individuals as they truly were.
Walpole at that point, by attempting to blend these two classes, makes something new something
genuinely novel . He makes fabulous situations like protective caps tumbling from the sky,
strolling pictures, and so on and puts as far as anyone knows genuine individuals into these
situations and lets them to act in a genuine way. In doing as such, he viably enables fiction to
develop in ways that it would some way or another have not possessed the capacity to. Walpole
presents many set pieces that

RESEARCH ESSAY ON HARD TIMES
English 2319
April 4, 2001
Hard Times was originally written as a weekly serial in a journal called Household Words. It was
written in 1854 to depict what life was like during the industrial revolution and reflect the
distinctions between the classes during that era. The novel centres around a theme of a convincing
criticism of utilitarianism, and every character in the novel plays a role of reinforcing this theme.
Utilitarianism doctrine reflects that the greatest happiness of the greatest number of people,
should be the aim of all social and political institutions so it is ok for the working people to suffer,
as long as the economy as a whole benefits. The novel uses its characters to expose the huge ...

His characters are overly exaggerated to enable him to portray the theme of the novel.
The characters in Hard Times are not void of humanistic qualities but they come across as
shallow. The reader only gets to uncover the first layer of their personality. Gissing reflects
Dickens style when he says I believe him to have been, what he always claimed to be, a very
accurate painter of the human beings... (Gissing). Gissing refers to Dickens as a painter of
human beings, which is a very two dimensional metaphor. Dickens characters are like a painting
rather flat and straightforward. Most of his characters are not very complex and personify either
good or evil. For example Gradgrind s character reflected a rationalistic and self serving
philosophy on life and we did not see any change in this until toward the end of the story when he
gave up his philosophy on fact and became politically active in helping the poor.
Dickens portrays characters in a particular way, he has a very narrow view of society and he
places emphasis on class distinctions. He has not a wide scope; he is always noticeably at his
best in dealing with an ill defined order of English folk, a class (or classes) characterized by
dullness, prejudice, dogged individuality, and manners, to say the least, unengaging. (Gissing).
Gissing thinks that even though we may remember the character s names, that is all that they are to
us. They have no depth and the characters do not leave a lasting

Business Communication Essay example
Business communication needs to become interpersonal again. No matter how we believe our
human forms came into existence, we were built to need personal contact and function best with
face to face communication. As children, we desired comfort from touch, a hug from our mothers.
As teenagers, we held hands with our boyfriend or girlfriend. As adults in the workforce, we still
need to feel that connection and comfort with our families and the people we work with. As Susan
RoAne (2008), owner of a speaking, consulting, and coaching business, discusses one way we feel
this connection is through getting to know and building trust by communicating in person. Through

For the greatest success of the business, employees need interpersonal communication to connect
with their co workers. A leadership expert, John C. Maxwell (2010) says: Connecting goes
beyond words. (p. 41). Physically being in the same room, verbally speaking thoughts, engaging
in eye contact, and being able to see nonverbal responses are all important and add to a person s
understanding of the message being communicated and feeling a connection. Overall,
communicating face to face is more natural for employees. An employee knows who is hearing
what they are saying and seeing their nonverbal gestures. The employee can either get immediate
feedback whether or not the person understands or agrees or disagrees. The communication does
not have to be formatted as it does on paper. An employee should still present themselves
professionally, but communicating face to face is a process, instead of format.
Through in person communication, employees will be able to not only build needed
connections, but relationships and trust with co workers in the business. Maslow s hierarchy of
needs is like a staircase, a person needs to satisfy the lower stairs to easily reach and fulfill the
higher staircases. If you refer to Figure 1 on page 9, social needs, feeling connections with people

The Vapor Absorption System
1.4VAPOR ABSORPTION SYSTEM
The attention of the vapor absorption system is growing in the past two decades. The major two
advantages are growing up this technology that is low carbon emission technology and low
electrical energy required. This system is operated with the help of low heating sources like solar
power, geothermal, waste heat, low pressure steam, and it contributes significant energy
conservation. Ecofriendly working fluid leads to reduce the global warming and ozone layer
depletion. The following reason is also growing the research interest of the system. It is suitable
for small to very large capacity. Operating cost is too less when compared with other commercial
technology, and it is required very less electrical energy to operate the pump. Less maintenance
cost because of heat exchangers and there are no moving parts in the system. The installation can
be done in a remote area, and it is movable. The system can be operated at various cold and
refrigeration ranges from 15 to 25 В°C.
1.4.1Overview of Absorption Technology
William Cullen and Nairne invented the mechanical vapor compression system in 1755 and, it is
one of the oldest refrigeration device operated based on the absorption refrigeration principle. He
made ice by the distilling effect of evaporating the air. He placed water in contact with air under
the receiver of a vacuum pump. The pump accelerated evaporation of the air and the temperature
significantly reduced and; it freezes the water

Tetrahydrocannabinol Research Paper
Over the years plants continue to evolve and come out with new methods and systems that help it
survive and reproduce. Animals such as insects and birds are key players in the reproduction of
plants. We call them pollinators because they help spread pollen from plant to plant, but one would
ask how a plantattracts animals to itself anyway. These plants have nectar a sweet tasting liquid that
animals eat and during this eating process pollenis rubbed off on the consumer. It s like an
unauthorized deal because both technically benefit from it. Another technique plants use to attract
animals, such as insects are vibrant colors. Not all plants appreciate the help so they have
structures and chemicals that repel them. For bigger animals like birds; a plant might develop a
thorny leaf texture that keeps it from being eaten. For insects, plants can produce toxins that can
either kill or repel insects making them sick. Some leaves develop textures that make it hard for
animals to digest. It s a better idea for plants to repel insects than kill because most plants depend
on insects and animals in some way unless there self pollinators. By killing... Show more content on

Goose Hollow Reflection
For my neighborhood study of Goose Hollow, I completed a research project to answer my
research question, What is day to day life like in Goose Hollow? . This paper will reveal the story
of my data through showing common themes between my research team s data to highlight
noticeable conclusions drawn from my research methodologies.
In analyzing my data, it is important to note my positionality. I am a nineteen year old female
college student living in a downtown area of a city. I identify as being middle class, Jewish,
heterosexual, and Latina. These key aspects of identity were important to take into consideration
while collecting and analyzing my data because it can affect interpretation. For my research in
Goose Hollow specifically, my social location as a middle class Latina was the most relevant. An
awareness of the tensions inherent in research, and reflection on these tensions is important
(McAullffe and Coleman, 2008, pg. 26). Being aware of my social location and following the
ethics and protocol necessary in a research project, allowed me to be reflexive during my study.
When making conclusions about my data to determine the narrative, I looked at how every research
methodology contributed to the themes of my neighborhood. In the very act of constructing data
out of experience, the qualitative researcher singles out some things as worthy of note and
relegates others to the background (Wolcott, 1994, pg. 13). For the purpose of my paper, I chose
to focus on two themes but that does not discredit the rest of my data. The two themes that
appeared in all the data shared between my research team, were the ideas that Goose Hollow
serves as an in between place for people trying to get from point A to point B and the active
gentrification present in the neighborhood. To begin, I focused on participant observation
methodology. The physical location and businesses of Goose Hollow makes it a convenient place
for people to stop. The grab and go pizza place, Starbucks, corner store, and many modes of
transportation make it a hub for commuters in their day to day life. When analyzing my group s
data, a considerable amount of instances relating to transportation were observed. Ellen Koukel

However, I learned after interning there that the staff is very small, and that the two biggest focus
in a campaign are fundraising in the beginning and then field work at the end. Field work is
basically canvassing, phone banking, placing out yard signs, and attending events. The reason why
these task is so important is because it is the easiest and cheapest way to get the name of the
candidate out to voters. Without field work the large majority of consitiuents wouldn t know who
the candidate is and what office they are running for, in addition when meeting with voters I could
talk to them about why I wanted to vote for Al Lawson, what his platforms where, and answering
any questions that they had. Hopefully, after they finished speaking with me on election day they
would be more likely to vote for him. Through my experiences in services, leadership, and my

Glory And Centerfield Sound Devices
There are many different types of poems. All poems have a meaning to them, and those
meanings are all unique to each and every poem. Much like poems, songs have very many types
and genres and different meanings. Glory , a poem by Yusef Komunyakaa, and Centerfield , a
song by John Fogerty, are very similar to each other. Both poems and songs use poetic language
such as figurative language and sound devices. These help the poem or song flow better, sound
more interesting, and keep the readers or listeners attention. Glory is a poem about young men
who use baseball as an escape from their long, hard work days. When the men got done with work,
they would go to an old baseball field and have fun and connect playing baseball. Although the...

These similarities are not only the topic, but also the uses of sound devices, figurative language,
and imagery. Both the poem and the song are centered around baseball. They both mention
former baseball legends, but Glory uses them to describe the ethnicity, while Centerfield uses
the names to add some context to the song. Both use sound devices such as consonance. In Glory
an example of a consonance is Working knockout shifts daybreak (2) and in Centerfield Don t
say it ain t so, you know the time is now (15). While Glory focuses more on the players and fans,
Centerfield focuses more on the game itself. In Glory it centers in on the players and their agile
nature and the way they play the game. It depicts the fans cheering them on and the umpires
dancing about calling strikes on batters. Centerfield is more about the writer playing the game
and competing to play the position, centerfield. Another difference between the two is the
context in which the game is being played. The young men in Glory had just gotten done with a
long, hard day of work and use the game as an escape from all of that work. It helps them stay
motivated for the week and live life in a better state of mind. Centerfield is not as much as an

The Political Environment Of The Philippines
Political Environment To begin, the political environment of the Philippines should firstly be
addressed. In the modern day Philippines, they have established a multi party democracy which has
an elected president along with its legislature. Their democracy is set up exactly the same as ours
in the United States. They have the framework of where the president is both the head of state as
well as the government in general. Similarly their system is composed of the three independent
branches which are the legislative, executive, and judicial branches. Under the leadership of the
president, the executive branch makes the decisions for the government/country body as a whole;
Congress the Senate and the House of Representatives, controls the legislative branch; and the
Supreme Court, held as the highest judicial body they have, is vested within the courts of the
Philippines. Within their country contrary to ours, they hold elections every three years instead of
our two. These elections have been held on the second Monday of May since 1992. The winners of
these elections begin their time in office on the following June 30th. Although the Philippines have
a democracy, not all of the regions within it have political power. Within the local government s
cities, provinces, municipalities and barangays, some regions merely exist just for the use of
administrative purposes. (Doing Business In the Philippines, n.d.).

Different Style, Different Register?
Essay question: Does style influence register or register influence style?
Language is an interesting topic to discuss. Basically, Language is defined as a system of
communication by sound, i.e., through the organs of speech and hearing, among human beings of
certain group or community, using vocal symbols possessing arbitrary conventional meaning.[1] It
means people use language to communicate and socialize among them. Language can be studied
internally or externally. Internal discussion of language encompasses the structure of language such
as phonological, morphological and syntactic structures. External discussion of language, on the

The notion of register presents the interface between the use of specific code and a particular
configuration of situational variables. One way of pinpointing a register is to identify a
communicative event along the dimensions.[11] Halliday distinguishes three general types of
dimension: field , mode and tenor .[12] The three dimensions will be discusses point by point.
The first point of dimensions is field . Field is social setting and purpose of the interaction.[13]
Moreover, Hudson stated field is concerned with the purpose and subject matter the
communication.[14] From the two opinions, it is clear that field deals with the purpose of
interaction. In the case of an academic article in a professional journal, for example, the field
should be the subject matter of the article, and the purpose in publishing it would be to spread the
argument and ideas among academic colleagues.[15] The second point is tenor . Tenor depends on
the relations between participants.[16] In addition, Stockwell mentioned that tenor refers to the
relationship between the participants in the event.[17] For example, when a student is talking to a
teacher, an offender to a police officer, an office worker to a superior, or a

Research And Development Cost Analysis
Today, companies are increasing their spending on research and development more than ever
before. Research and development costs are the costs that a company incurs to either improve its
existing products and processes, or develop entirely new endeavors. Thus, as research and
development costs are now inevitable for businesses in order to beat out competitors, it is important
to understand the accounting treatment for these costs under the guidance of both GAAP and IFRS.
Both research and development costs are expensed as incurred under GAAP; however, there is
further guidance regarding the accounting treatment of software development that allows for
possible capitalization of related development costs. A report issued by PWC states that,... Show

18). Once these criteria are met, development costs can then be capitalized and amortized over a
period of time and as a result, would show the recognition of the continuous benefit from the
development costs that contributed to the asset.
An important point for companies that are following IFRS guidelines here is to differentiate
between costs that are related to research activities and those related to development activities, since
they require different treatments. According to KPMG, the definition of what constitutes research
costs versus development costs is very similar between IFRS and GAAP; however, neither provides
a clear definition that easily differentiates the two categories (IFRS, 2017). Because of the different
accounting treatment required, it is imperative that a company develops processes and controls that
allow the distinction to be made based on the nature of different activities. This ensures the most
accurate representation of research and development costs presented in the financial statements of
an entity.
The previously discussed guidance is pertaining to intangible assets that were developed by the
entity itself; there is separate guidance regarding research and development costs related to
intangible assets obtained through the acquisition of another company. Under GAAP, capitalization
depends on both the type of acquisition,

Surely, we can t deny how technology helps us contact each other, but there is one idea that they
overlooks, which is the addiction that people have on the cell phone. Whenever people
congregate, the action they do is stare on the phones. Audrey, sixteen, a Roosevelt junior,
describes how her relationship with her mother breaks up as her mother spent all her time on the
phone every time they were together. It could have been four days since I last spoke to her, then I
sit in the car and wait silently until she s done, said Audrey (377). In other words, Audrey is trying
to express her feeling that how the cell phone has estranged her and her mother. From these, we can
tell that how technology has been a drug that keeps us from interacting with each

Application of Ethical Theories
The role of ethical theories in ethical reasoning and behavior within organizations Research proposal
Sigalit Pasternak, Phd student
The Faculty of Management
Tel Aviv University
Supervisor: Dr. Ishak Saporta
Introduction
Business ethics is a specialized branch of ethics focusing on how moral standards apply to business
organizations and behavior (Velasques, 1998). As such, it cannot be understood separately from the
general ideas of ethics, and the general ethical theories apply to business ethics as well (Hunt Vitell,
1986; Fritzsche Becker, 1984;
Schumann, 2001; Lahdesnati, 2005). Normative ethical theory offers different moral theories, each
prescribing a set of moral rules that individuals can apply in the process of deciding ... Show more

Finally, most of the empirical research on the connection between ethical theories and ethical
reasoning is carried out in separation from research on the ethical decision making process.
Although there is a consensus as to the role of important individual and contextual components on
ethical decision making within organizations (for review, see Kish Gephart, Harrison and Trevino,
2010 Meta analysis), relatively little is known about the effect of these components on ethical
reasoning within organizations. The third objective of this research is to explore the link between
different individual and environmental factors and the application of different ethical theories in
ethical reasoning.
The proposed research can generate a theoretical contribution to the literature on ethical decision
making within organizations in several ways. First, the research attempts to resolve the differences
in past research finding in regard to the role of ethical theories in ethical reasoning by examining the
connection between the specific content and context of ethical dilemmas and the ethical rule or
theory applied by individuals to explain their resolution. Secondly, it

Ted Bundy Case
Criminal Case Study Theodore Bundy, also known as Ted, was born on November 24, 1946 in
Burlington, Vermont to Eleanor Cowell who secretly was ashamed. Eleanor was a 22 year old
single mother whose parents were very religious and humiliated of Ted. After Ted was born,
Eleanor brought him to her parents who lived in Philadelphia, where he was raised as the
adoptive son of his grandparents. This led to his real mom being called his sister. A few years
later, Eleanor and Ted moved to Tacoma, Washington where Eleanor married Johnnie Bundy in
1951. As far as everyone knew, Ted grew up in a working class, Christian familythat cared and
loved for him.
Ted was a shy, bright kid who did very well in school, but not as much with his peers. Around the
age of three Ted had caught an interest in knives and as a teenager he would walk around at
night looking for discarded pornography or open windows to view women through. He attended
the University of Washington where he fell in love with a pretty young woman who had long,
dark brown hair and was from California. She had wealth, class and influence, which was all Ted
wanted. They broke up and Ted was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ted decided to be his own lawyer and during a trip to the Courthouse library, he jumped out of a
window and made his first escape. He was captured eight days later. Then in December of 1975,
Ted climbed out of a hole in the ceiling of his cell that he created. He lost 30 pounds just to fit
through the hole and it took the police 15 hours to find out that Ted was missing from his cell.
By then Ted was long gone, heading to Tallahassee, Florida. On January 14, 1978, Ted broke into
the Chi Omega sorority house at Florida State University. He attacked four young students, killing
two of them. Then, on February 9, 1979, he killed a 12 year old girl named Kimberly Leach. After
that, Ted was pulled over by police and taken back into

British Independence
When Britain first created the colonies, they thought they had really done something and that
the colonies would forever be ruled by them. Although this sounded good to both the colonies
and Britain at first, the Continentals soon changed their minds. The colonists broke away from
British rule mainly because of implementation of the Sugar Act, Stamp Act, Tea Act, and the
Intolerable Acts; all of which were imposed by Parliament. In 1776, Parliament passed the Sugar
Act. The act increased the prices on all sugars that the colonies used. The profits from it went
directly to Britain to pay for the French and Indian War debt. This upset the colonists because
they were previously told that they would not have to pay for any of the war, then the King of
England imposed this tax on them anyway. This began the colonists anger toward Britain. The
Stamp Act was passed in 1765, it required the colonists to pay a tax on any printed paper goods
that they used, and they had to have a stamp on them proving that the tax was paid. This was the
first direct tax imposed on individual colonists. All of the proceeds went toward British soldiers,
which did not benefit the colonists at all. The Sons of Liberty protested some but it did little to no
good to sway Parliament. Eventually the colonies boycotted all British goods which pushed
Parliament to repeal... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The colonists were infuriated by another tax being passed without their permission. The Sons of
Liberty dressed up as Mohawk Indians on December 16, 1773 and dumped over forty five tons of
tea into the Boston Harbor. Britain received the message from this that the colonies could do a lot
of damage when they set their minds to it. The Boston Tea Partywas a direct response to the Tea
Act; it was another way that the colonists showed that they opposed

Dante s Motivation to Write The Divine Comedy Essay
Dante s Motivation to Write The Divine Comedy (La Divina Commedia)
To truly comprehend Dante s Divine Comedy, although complete comprehension is not necessary
to enjoy this literary masterpiece, there are several skills one might need to acquire. For instance,
one helpful piece of knowledge would be the ability to fluently speak Italian, since the many
translations differ being able to have read Dante s actual written words and understand them would
make reading the Divine Comedy a bit more personal and therefore easier to understand. To catch
and understand the plethora of references and allusions made by Dante it would aid any reader
with their findings to be accompanying their reading of the Divine Comedy with a reading of ...

What made her special enough to have a 967 page poem about her? Where did she belong in the
vast life of Dante? Why has Dante chosen to paint this truly heavenly picture of her? How did
she react to this? The historical Beatrice was very probably Bice, daughter of Falco Portinari,
(Madelbaum [IN] 320) so in reality Beatrice or Bice was really just a childhood neighbor of the
Alighieri, who Dante says he, immediately felt the foce of love for her upon first glance.
(Alighieri [VN] 37) However love at first sight is hardly the case here. They first laid eyes on
each other at age nine, Dante being several months older then Bice, however the twist comes when
it isn t until almost nine years after this event the first words are finally spoken between the two.
Soon after this event the heavenly Bice married, not Dante, but Simone di Bardi and then, sadly,
died at a very young age.
What is it exactly that would make Dante write such an epic piece about someone who he never
really knew too well? It is said that, After the death of Beatrice, Dante entered, belatedly but
voraciously, a period of philosophical study. His motives were both the need for consolation and
the restless, urban, unecclesiastical curiosity that characterized one who was becoming the most
complete intellectual of his time. (Mandelbaum [IN] 321) So it is easily noticeable that there is
some kind of connection between Dante and Bice. Yet, is it possible that this affection was a one

Epidermal Layer Of Skin Essay
Epidermal and Dermal Layers of Skin in Relation to the Permanence of Fingerprints The tough,
relatively thin outer layer of the skin, or epidermis is made up of five layers of keratinocyte cells.
This outer layer of the skin acts as the bodies first natural form of defense by preventing most
bacteria, viruses and foreign objects from penetrating the body. Additionally, the epidermis
layer of
skinworks to protect internal organs in the body against trauma. The epidermal layer of skin present
on the palms of the hands and the bottom of the feet are much thicker to provide additional
protection due to the stratum corneum, the outer keratin layer of the epidermis. Melanocytes can be
found in the deepest layer of the epidermis, the basal layer, its primary function is to protect DNA
from harmful exposure to ultraviolet radiation from sunlight (Holder, Robinson Laub, 2011)....

This layer of skin is made up of two sub layers, the papillary layer and the reticular layer.
Additionally, the dermis layer of skin houses nerve endings, sweat gland, sebaceous glands, hair
follicles and blood vessels which work together to regulate the body s temperature. Nerve endings
function to allow us to sense pain, touch, pressure, and temperature, while sweat glands produce
sweat in response to heat and stress. The sebaceous glands, which secrete oil into hair follicles to
moisten the skin and act as a barrier against foreign substances. Together the papillary layer and the
reticular layer provide our skin with its flexibility and strength. (SEER Training Modules,

Advantage And Disadvantage Of English
With the rapidly development of English, English becomes a lingua franca in the world. English
language is spoken by over1.5billion people around the world ( Mufwene, S. , 2010). Non native
speakers are far outnumber of native English speakers which means that many people who come
from different backgrounds and different native language are using English as a common language
for communication( Mufwene, S. , 2010). In other words, English have an important position today;
it affects more and more people use it as a common channel for communication or in the aspect of
sharing academic information. However, although English has many advantages, it is threatening to
the position of other languages in the world, for example, some languages are facing... Show more

English become that language they need. This trend also affects people become a global citizen.
Many basic words, such as OK, Hello , Yes and so on, which is some very common words using
in answer question or greet somebody who come from different culture and speaking different
languages. Therefore, English become a language for them as a kind of lingua franca to adapt the
local live and communicate with people. English infiltrate into society more widely and deeply,
people are more likely to become a global citizen who can communicate to the global world
because of using English. People don t have to worry about the language barrier. One example is
the global tourism. In the past, language barrier maybe affected a person whether he or she was
planning to travel other countries. If people want to travel that places, it will means that you have
to learn the local language. But now, English can solve this problem, not only useful for those
countries which are used English, but also the others such as Japan, Korea. It happens on all
countries in the world ( N.P. , 2013). In addition, wherever you want to travel, study abroad,
business trip and so on, airport probably is a way station that bring you to the place where you
want to go. Then, you can find the most language used in the airport is English. Consequently,
English is the most commonly used

Essay On Myotonic Dystrophy
Myotonic Dystrophy is a late onset disease which has two types. The first type is DM1. In order
to test for DM1 a molecular genetic test is performed on DMPK. DMPK stands for Dystrophia
myotonica protein kinase. This test is 100% accurate because it will detect the pathogenic variants
in all patients. DM1 comes from a defect in chromosome nineteen.
The second type is DM2. Interesting enough the gene CNBP is the only gene in which a mutation
within it is known to cause myotonic dystrophy in its second type. It s more than 99% accurate
with the combination of routine PCR, Southern blot analysis, and the PCR repeat primed assay.
DM2 comes from a defect in chromosome three.

Eventually a need to focus on relearning how to do simple things such as getting up from sitting
and going up and down stairs and gripping objects will need to be reassessed. Often enough
exercise has also been an issue and it has been debated on whether or not exercise makes the
disease spread faster but also disuse of the muscles can contribute to further weakness so that it s
recommended to discover what is just the right balance for exercise depending on the individual.
Though a study was done that in which strengthening exercises at a moderate intensity did not
speed up the disease progression. Types of exercises that have been found safe are Aerobic
exercises, which have been found effective in improving fitness in patients and cardiovascular
exercise though beforehand a cardiac examination is recommended and an ok from a primary care
physician.
I restate my opinion that I disagree with ASHG s statement and my reasons are that simply the
diagnosis of myotonic dystrophy takes years and I believe that giving the child a chance to better
their life with the disease is better than keeping them from knowing about their

The Negative Effects Of Social Networking In The Workplace
Social networking is all the crave in today s society. In 2017, 81 percent of U.S. Americans had an
online networking profile, representing a five percent development contrasted with the earlier year
( ). Social networking in the working environment can be an important apparatus for organizations.
It can, in turn, cause significant issues at work. Bosses are confronted with the need to create
online networking approaches that enable the organization to receive the positive rewards of social
networking use while limiting the negative impacts. Issues happen when workers take advantage
of work web access for individual use amid work hours. Managers must choose if the utilization of
web based social networking exceeds the potential for negative effects.
Managers are concerned that social media can become a distraction during working hours.
Employees can become lost in time while on social media taking away from valuable productivity.
Social media can also be valuable to the organization as a promotional tool to reach out to new
clients.
An advantage of online networking in the work environment is that it can be used as an advertising
tool for organizations. It enables a measure of straightforwardness to the organization through posts,
sites, and pictures and makes the organization less demanding to identify with for the normal
shopper. Organizations can utilize online networking to assemble mailing records, offer deals,
display products and post positive media comments.

Dermatology Clerkship Report
The internist looks for the shadow of a disease, the dermatologist looks at the disease itself . This
was a memorable saying of one my professors, Dr. Hunegnaw, a distinguished dermatologist at my
medical school as I started the first day of my dermatology clerkship. A saying that had sparked my
initial interest in dermatology.
I was trained in an inner city hospital run by the state and where most of my patients were of low
socioeconomic status. During my third year medicine clerkships, I had many sad stories where
patients had abandoned medical care because they could not afford the advanced laboratory work
up and imaging studies when referred to outside hospitals. I thought to myself that there should be
an area of medicine where I could

  • 3. Maria Montessori Essay Maria Montessori was considered ahead of her time. She was born in Chiaravalle, in the province of Ancona, Italy in 1870 to an educated but not wealthy family. Despite her father s wishes and society s conservative ways at the time, she studied science. She was the first female physician in Italy when she graduated medical school in 1896. She worked mostly with the poor because she saw vast potential in them. She was an unselfish person and she traveled Italy speaking of women s rights and child labor law reforms. Not too long after graduating she was chosen to represent Italy in two different women s conferences. They were at Berlin in 1896 and also in London in 1900. Maria was appointed a professor of anthropology at the University of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There is no set level that all children must follow; they learn when they explore by themselves. This method leaves children with freedom where they can learn self discipline in a place designed specifically for their developmental needs. Teachers would have a part in the education of children though even though 80% of it was up to the children. Teachers are to make sure that children are presented with the right extent of material at the right time. In other words, if a child is too advanced for one activity, a teacher would present a new one to fit them, and vice versa. Maria believed if her methods were applied to public schools the results would be even better than the traditional method results. Since the government didn t let her, she started to work with poor daycare children. She doubted that her methods would work under these conditions but she had shocking results. She discovered if the children were in an orderly place to work, they will respect that and care for it. They are able to learn longer and better than in an everyday setting. In Montessori preschool, five areas make up the prepared learning environment. These areas include practical life, the sensorial area, mathematics, and cultural activities. In the elementary program, areas include integration, presentation of knowledge, presentation of the formal scientific languages, the use of visual aids, mathematic curriculum, Montessori trained teachers, emphasis on open ended research and ... I believe the witches hardly contributed to Macbeth s downfall, however how innocent are they in this event? The witches tell Macbeth his prophecy and promise he will become a high ruler saying All hail, Macbeth! Hail to you, thane of Glamis! All hail, Macbeth! Hail to thee, thane of Cawdor! All hail, Macbeth, that shalt be king hereafter! . These are possibly the words that had helped start the downfall of Macbeth, giving him the idea that Macbeth could possibly rule one day. Lady Macbeth contributes largely to the downfall of Macbeth, being possibly the main cause of the situation they are placed in with the killing of King Duncan. Lady Macbeth is a master manipulator, she uses Macbeths love for her and insults his manhood saying things such as too full o the milk of human kindness , meaning that Macbeth is too gentle and weak to murder Duncan, undermining him. Lady Macbeth is a strong woman, believing kindness and sympathy is weakness, however Macbeth is a caring and loyal man meaning Lady Macbeths mind and Will easily overthrows Macbeths morals and will in order to gain control. Come you spirits, That tend on mortal thoughts, unsex me here, And fill me from the crown to the toe top full Of direst cruelty! , this quote by Lady Macbeth, asking the spirits to grant her cruelty in order to kill Duncan without caring shows the extent of her will to become queen and how she will stop at nothing. In the Tempest by William Shakespeare, the struggle for political power between classes and the dream of being king of the island present itself. The struggle for political power results in damaging and destructive endings for the stranded islanders. The play has clear social and political structures that can be viewed critically with the Marxist lense. The damage and destruction from a bureaucratic society and political system can be clearly viewed throughout the Tempest. The play allows a Marxist reading to occur with the presence of power hungry Antonio and Stephano, oppressed slaves, and Gonzalo s dream of being king. The Synthesis Of Most Coagulation Factors And Inhibitors Liver has many haemostatic functions including the synthesis of most coagulation factors and inhibitors as well as fibrinolytic factors. The balance between procoagulant and anticoagulant factors is essential to prevent excessive blood loss from injured vessels and to prevent spontaneous thrombosis(11).The global effect of liverdisease with regard to hemostasis is therefore complex, so that patients with advanced liver disease can experience severe bleeding or even thrombotic complications(12).In our study as regards presence of co morbid factors namely DM and hypertension, the prevalence of DM and hypertension was higher in PVT group than non PVT group, these results match the findings reported by Martinelli et al.(13) who clarified that hypertension and DM were associated with increased risk of PVT. That finding may be attributed to the association of dyslipidemia with diabetes and increased risk of atherosclerosis. So patients with liver cirrhosis and associated with diabetes or hypertension carry the risk for PVT more than cirrhotics without them. The number of patients who were Smokers and users ofISSN 2320 5407 International Journal of Advanced Research (2015), Volume 3, Issue 12, 1539 1548 1545 contraceptive pills were also statistically higher in PVT group than non PVT group indicating that these may be factors for PVT development which goes in agreement with Shetty and Ghosh study (14). • 7. Analysis Of Mark Twain s The Adventures Of Huckleberry... CHAPTER III HUMANISM IN MARK TWAINS NOVELS A study of Mark Twain s Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is an adventure in understanding changes in America itself. The book, at the center of American geography and consciousness, asks readers to reexamine definitions of civilization and freedom, right and wrong, social responsibility and inhumanity. Published in 1885, the novel recounts those pre civil war days when the controversy over slavery, with designated slave and Free states, disfigured the face of America and its view of itself as a land of the free. Both geographically and otherwise, the story is an examination of life at the center: the center of America s premier river, the Mississippi in the middle of the geographical United states, with slave states below, free states above, which is the route toward freedom and escape for Huck and Jim; the center of one of the foremost conflicts on American soil, slavery, which soon results in a civil war; the center of the coming of age of both a young man and a nation that struggle to understand redefinitions of nationhood and freedom, right and wrong; and the center of a shift from Romanticism to Realism in art and letters that would provide for a new way for Americans to express and re create themselves. The novel offers an excellent example of American picaresque fiction and meaningful use of dialect, although this dialect may be difficult reading for students for whom English is not a first language. • 9. Aboriginal Rights in Canada There has been a great deal of contention over Aboriginal Rights in Canada. Much of this conflict can be said to stem from the differences in both the philosophy and cultural systems of Aboriginal and non aboriginal people, with much of it originating from the time of the original European settlement of Canada(UBC Law, 2009). The focus of this conflict has been primarily on the rights to land, sea and resources, as well as how the law is to apply to the Aboriginal peoples of Canada (UBC Law, 2009). Contention on law began early into the colonization period. Originally the Royal Proclamation of 1763, set by the British Crown, was in place to protect the land rights of Canadian Aboriginals (UBC Law, 2009). The Royal Proclamation recognized Aboriginal title, and sought to establish relations with the Aboriginals (UBC Law, 2009). Ultimately, the proclamation meant that there was Crown recognition of land ownership, and that Aboriginal authority would continue under North Americas new British reign (UBC Law, 2009). In order to protect these land rights, a provision was made. The provision states that only the British Crown had the ability to acquire land in Canada from the Aboriginal community, and could only do so by treaty (UBC Law, 2009). Thus, the original Royal Proclamation of 1763 served to protect Aboriginal land rights under the British Sovereignty. However, despite British attempts to cement Aboriginal rights, the colonial governments did not necessarily cooperate. In ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

GAS is defined as sequenced physiological responses to the presence of a stressor, involving the alarm, resistance, and exhaustion stages of the stress response. GAS is a three stage process that describes the physiological changes that the body goes through when stressed. These stages are alarm, resistance, and exhaustion. The alarm stage is involuntary and the changes are controlled by the hormonal and nervous system. Once you are exposed to an event that is threatening or dangerous, the body immediately prepares for difficulty. The hormones and nerves trigger the fight or flight response. Your ... • 11. Cape Cod Erosion Cape Cod, a little arm that sticks out into the Atlantic Ocean, is a popular destination all year round but especially in the Summer for beachgoers. Cape Cod was formed about 18,000 years ago when the glaciers started to melt, but how was it formed? It formed through a process called weathering and erosion. Weathering is the process of wearing away or changing the appearance or texture of (something) by long exposure to the water, wind, and even ice. Erosion is the process that takes the results of weathering away by water, wind, or other natural processes. The sediment was picked up by the glaciers and slowly eroded down towards Cape Cod. As the glaciers moved south, the warmer weather began to melt the glaciers and they dumped their load of sediment to form Cape Cod. In total, 3 glaciers formed Cape Cod. The middle lobe retreated first leaving behind sediment that created the middle part of the arm (the bicep). Next the easternmost lobe retreated and the sediment it left behind created the upper part of the arm (Provincetown). When the last glaciers melted about 18,000 years ago leaving behind an usual looking landform. Today, scientists know that the glaciers brought the sediment because they are all different colors, textures, and all have different layers. A big problem in Cape Cod is beach erosion. The first reason why the beaches are eroding is because of rock jetties. Rock jetties that separate beaches interrupt the natural transfer of sand by the tides and wind. The ... • 13. Solar Energy. The Form Of Electromagnetic Energy Emitted Solar ENERGY The form of electromagnetic energy emitted from the sun and generated by means of a fusion reaction within the sun. There are little terms regarding the solar energy. A valuable source of terms is the ISO 9488:1999 standard, which gives the solar energy into three languages: Absorber Component of a solar collector that collects and retains as much of the radiation from the sun as possible. The vogue of these system is based on the fact that relatively simple systems are involved and solar water heating systems are generally viable. This category of solar systems belongs to the low temperature heat applications. The world s commercial low temperature heat consumption is estimated to be about 10 EJ per year for hot water production, equivalent to 6 trillion m2 of collector area . In 2005, about 140 million m2 of solar thermal collector area were in operation around the world, which is only 2.3% of the potential . A solar water heater is a combination of a solar collector array, an energy transfer system, and a storage tank. The main part of a solar water heater is the solar collector array, which absorbs solar radiation and converts it to heat. This heat is then absorbed by a heat transfer fluid (water, non freezing liquid, or air) that passes through the collector. This heat can then be stored or used directly. Because it is understood that portions of the solar energy system are exposed to weather conditions, they must be protected from freezing and overheating caused by high insolation levels during periods of low energy demand. Solar photovoltaic (PV): The transmutation of sunlight directly into electricity by using photovoltaic cells. Photovoltaic systems can be lodge on rooftops, integrated at the top of building designs and vehicles, or scaled up to megawatt scale power plants. Solar cell : A solar ... • 14. Body Shapers Can Create The Illusion Of Weight Loss Without Body shapers help create the illusion of weight loss without actually dieting and exercising. Body shapers are helpful to women who do not look neat and slim even though their actual weight is healthy. Some people argue that body shapers may be harmful or a health risk, yet they do work and do not hurt you if they are worn properly and at the correct size. Women should wear body shapers because in society people should look nice, neat, and presentable. People should at least try body shapers for themselves before ruling them out. Women have been wearing body shaping undergarments for centuries. Modern day body shapers which are sometimes called spanx, were not introduced until the year 2000. Before there were spanx, there were girdles and corsets. The first girdles were woven garments that looked like belts. Girdles were used to shape, reinforce and strengthen the body. The corsets came about around the sixteenth century which were created with animal bones and then later steel rods. The corsets were tightened by pulling the laces in the back until the desired hour glass shape was created to the women s waist. Wearing a corset can also change the bust line, by raising the breasts upwards and shaping them, flattening the stomach, and improving posture. Indeed, excessive corset wearing has been claimed to weaken certain muscles, making it more difficult to maintain posture without a corset. The tightening caused restriction to the organs, especially the lungs causing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 17. The Analytical Methods Applied On Security Pattern Data... The analytical methods applied on security pattern data yield results in the form of pattern clusters and concepts. Pattern applicability can be improved by making this classification and resulting concept knowledge readily available to practitioners. In order to make it readily available, the results must be represented in a suitable format. Further, it must be shared using a tool or technology which is easy to use and does not need any special hardware or software. In this chapter, we present our approach towards representing the gained knowledgeand sharing it so that it can be accessed and used. The chapter outline is as follows. In Section 7.1, we present the knowledge discovery and its adoption for the present work. The first mining tool applied is clustering. The knowledge obtained using this mechanism is presented in Section 7.2. The second knowledge discovery technique used in the research is FCA. Section 7.3 gives an overview of the knowledge extracted using FCA. In Section 7.4, we give our views about knowledge sharing, the issues which need to be considered and our solutions to address them. The representation format for various knowledge elements is presented in Section 7.5. The knowledge search framework is presented in Section 7.6 followed by a discussion on the implementation aspects in Section 7.7. • 19. The s Covert Operations Against The Marxist Sandinista... However, when Casey increased the agency s covert operations against the Marxist Sandinista government in Nicaragua by funneling aid to the contras, the anti Sandinista rebels, Congress became concern of the CIA involvement in Central America. Hence, in 1982 it passed Boland amendment prohibiting the agency from aiding the contras. , Casey continued to find ways to evade the amendment (Encyclopedia of World Biography, 2010). On January 7, 1984 and February 29, 1984, the CIA mined several harbors in Nicaragua. To this day, the exact role of President Reagan in the Iran Contra scandal is unclear. However, it appears that in July 1985, in a strategic attempt to build relationship with some moderate elements within Iran s regime, and to secure the release of seven American hostages held by Iranian backed Shiite extremists in Lebanon, Reagan ordered an operation to sell arms to Iran, which violated the U.S. arms sales embargo against Iran s regime. Congressional committees that later investigated the Iran Contra affair concluded that the shredding of the documents and the death of Casey, left the record incomplete. It appears that due to Congress s oversight on the CIA s covert operations, initially, the agency was not officially involved in the affair. Casey later testified to Congress that he was unaware of all the details and the agency only had a supporting role (Encyclopedia of World Biography, 2010). Nevertheless, Casey was viewed as a central figure in the agency s involvement in the affair. From August 1985 to October 1986, seven arms shipments were sent using Israeli and CIA planes. • 20. Miss Emily Questions In William Faulkner s A Rose for Emily, the elderly woman is mysterious, suspicious, and a murderer. Throughout the story the narrator talks a little about Emily s back story but the narrator does go as far as telling about her child hood growing up but instead talks about her life from the time she is a young adult until she is an elder. We start to see that there are some unanswered questions throughout the entire story, and even with the surprise ending it still leaves us with a lot of questions that need to be answered. Since the narrator didn t give that much of a backstory regarding Miss Emily, we must come up with theories and conclusions to answer our own questions. First, we see that Miss Emily is mysterious even from the very beginning because the narrator talks about how her house used to be, white, decorated with cupolas, and spires, and scrolled balconies . By the way the narrator describes her house it seems that it used to be very beautiful and full of life, but now the, garages and cotton gins had encroached and obliterated . The narrator mentions in the story is that Miss Emily had a manservant; we start to ask ourselves the question that if she has a servant to wait on her hand and foot than how could she let her house get in such a bad shape like that when she could have asked her servant to keep the house tidy since she is too old to do it herself. Another thing that is mysterious is that the narrator mentions that she hardly ever leaves her house ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Miner establishes how the attitudes about the body has a ubiquitous influence on Nacirema society. Accordingly, they spend a significant part of their day in strange ritual activities to refine and elevate conditions of the body by using magical elements. Through a satirical approach, Miner uses this article as a way to describe American culturein a unique way by providing readers an outsider s perspective on American rituals. • 25. Paranormal Sentimental Fiction In Horace Walpole s The... This section will investigate the history and advancement behind paranormal sentimental fiction. Paranormal sentimental fiction had its beginnings in the eighteenth century. An early noticeable novel in this class was The Castle of Otranto composed by Horace Walpole. Walpole began an artistic development somewhere down in riddle that increased quick drama and various imitators. He is by and by for the most part associated with Strawberry Hill, the home he worked in Twickenham, South West London where he resuscitated the Gothic type a few decades before his Victorian successors, and for his Gothic novel, The Castle of Otranto. The novel distributed in 1764 is regularly thought as the primary gothic novel, beginning an artistic kind which would turn out to be exceptionally mainstream in the later eighteenth century and mid nineteenth century. In this manner, Walpole, by augmentation, is apparently the antecedent to such creators as Charles Maturin, Ann Radcliffe, Bram Stoker, Edgar Allan Poe and Daphne du Maurier. In the introduction of the second release, Walpole makes a heuristic for perusing the novel which without a doubt changes the way perusers are to see the novel until its end. He claims to blend the new and old types of sentiment. The old sentiment is what is presently considered pre novel exposition a principle component of such writing is their incredible style. There is enchantment, the otherworldly is bottomless and they are absolutely mind boggling. The type of the new sentiment is the thing that the books of the eighteenth century, when Walpole was composing, would ordinarily have resembled. These books were reasonable; they were made to portray occasions and individuals as they truly were. Walpole at that point, by attempting to blend these two classes, makes something new something genuinely novel . He makes fabulous situations like protective caps tumbling from the sky, strolling pictures, and so on and puts as far as anyone knows genuine individuals into these situations and lets them to act in a genuine way. In doing as such, he viably enables fiction to develop in ways that it would some way or another have not possessed the capacity to. Walpole presents many set pieces that ... RESEARCH ESSAY ON HARD TIMES English 2319 April 4, 2001 Hard Times was originally written as a weekly serial in a journal called Household Words. It was written in 1854 to depict what life was like during the industrial revolution and reflect the distinctions between the classes during that era. The novel centres around a theme of a convincing criticism of utilitarianism, and every character in the novel plays a role of reinforcing this theme. Utilitarianism doctrine reflects that the greatest happiness of the greatest number of people, should be the aim of all social and political institutions so it is ok for the working people to suffer, as long as the economy as a whole benefits. Gissing reflects Dickens style when he says I believe him to have been, what he always claimed to be, a very accurate painter of the human beings... (Gissing). Gissing refers to Dickens as a painter of human beings, which is a very two dimensional metaphor. Dickens characters are like a painting rather flat and straightforward. Most of his characters are not very complex and personify either good or evil. For example Gradgrind s character reflected a rationalistic and self serving philosophy on life and we did not see any change in this until toward the end of the story when he gave up his philosophy on fact and became politically active in helping the poor. Dickens portrays characters in a particular way, he has a very narrow view of society and he places emphasis on class distinctions. He has not a wide scope; he is always noticeably at his best in dealing with an ill defined order of English folk, a class (or classes) characterized by dullness, prejudice, dogged individuality, and manners, to say the least, unengaging. (Gissing). Gissing thinks that even though we may remember the character s names, that is all that they are to us. They have no depth and the characters do not leave a lasting ... The major two advantages are growing up this technology that is low carbon emission technology and low electrical energy required. This system is operated with the help of low heating sources like solar power, geothermal, waste heat, low pressure steam, and it contributes significant energy conservation. Ecofriendly working fluid leads to reduce the global warming and ozone layer depletion. The following reason is also growing the research interest of the system. It is suitable for small to very large capacity. Operating cost is too less when compared with other commercial technology, and it is required very less electrical energy to operate the pump. Less maintenance cost because of heat exchangers and there are no moving parts in the system. The installation can be done in a remote area, and it is movable. The system can be operated at various cold and refrigeration ranges from 15 to 25 В°C. 1.4.1Overview of Absorption Technology William Cullen and Nairne invented the mechanical vapor compression system in 1755 and, it is one of the oldest refrigeration device operated based on the absorption refrigeration principle. Animals such as insects and birds are key players in the reproduction of plants. We call them pollinators because they help spread pollen from plant to plant, but one would ask how a plantattracts animals to itself anyway. These plants have nectar a sweet tasting liquid that animals eat and during this eating process pollenis rubbed off on the consumer. It s like an unauthorized deal because both technically benefit from it. Another technique plants use to attract animals, such as insects are vibrant colors. Not all plants appreciate the help so they have structures and chemicals that repel them. For bigger animals like birds; a plant might develop a thorny leaf texture that keeps it from being eaten. For insects, plants can produce toxins that can either kill or repel insects making them sick. Some leaves develop textures that make it hard for animals to digest. This paper will reveal the story of my data through showing common themes between my research team s data to highlight noticeable conclusions drawn from my research methodologies. In analyzing my data, it is important to note my positionality. I am a nineteen year old female college student living in a downtown area of a city. I identify as being middle class, Jewish, heterosexual, and Latina. These key aspects of identity were important to take into consideration while collecting and analyzing my data because it can affect interpretation. For my research in Goose Hollow specifically, my social location as a middle class Latina was the most relevant. An awareness of the tensions inherent in research, and reflection on these tensions is important (McAullffe and Coleman, 2008, pg. 26). Being aware of my social location and following the ethics and protocol necessary in a research project, allowed me to be reflexive during my study. When making conclusions about my data to determine the narrative, I looked at how every research methodology contributed to the themes of my neighborhood. In the very act of constructing data out of experience, the qualitative researcher singles out some things as worthy of note and relegates others to the background (Wolcott, 1994, pg. 13). For the purpose of my paper, I chose to focus on two themes but that does not discredit the rest of my data. The two themes that appeared in all the data shared between my research team, were the ideas that Goose Hollow serves as an in between place for people trying to get from point A to point B and the active gentrification present in the neighborhood. To begin, I focused on participant observation methodology. The physical location and businesses of Goose Hollow makes it a convenient place for people to stop. • 37. Glory And Centerfield Sound Devices There are many different types of poems. All poems have a meaning to them, and those meanings are all unique to each and every poem. Much like poems, songs have very many types and genres and different meanings. Glory , a poem by Yusef Komunyakaa, and Centerfield , a song by John Fogerty, are very similar to each other. Both poems and songs use poetic language such as figurative language and sound devices. These help the poem or song flow better, sound more interesting, and keep the readers or listeners attention. Glory is a poem about young men who use baseball as an escape from their long, hard work days. When the men got done with work, they would go to an old baseball field and have fun and connect playing baseball. Although the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These similarities are not only the topic, but also the uses of sound devices, figurative language, and imagery. Both the poem and the song are centered around baseball. They both mention former baseball legends, but Glory uses them to describe the ethnicity, while Centerfield uses the names to add some context to the song. Both use sound devices such as consonance. In Glory an example of a consonance is Working knockout shifts daybreak (2) and in Centerfield Don t say it ain t so, you know the time is now (15). While Glory focuses more on the players and fans, Centerfield focuses more on the game itself. In Glory it centers in on the players and their agile nature and the way they play the game. It depicts the fans cheering them on and the umpires dancing about calling strikes on batters. Centerfield is more about the writer playing the game and competing to play the position, centerfield. Another difference between the two is the context in which the game is being played. The young men in Glory had just gotten done with a long, hard day of work and use the game as an escape from all of that work. It helps them stay motivated for the week and live life in a better state of mind. Centerfield is not as much as an escape for the writer, but more as a game that he has known and loved. • 38. The Political Environment Of The Philippines Political Environment To begin, the political environment of the Philippines should firstly be addressed. In the modern day Philippines, they have established a multi party democracy which has an elected president along with its legislature. Their democracy is set up exactly the same as ours in the United States. They have the framework of where the president is both the head of state as well as the government in general. Similarly their system is composed of the three independent branches which are the legislative, executive, and judicial branches. Under the leadership of the president, the executive branch makes the decisions for the government/country body as a whole; Congress the Senate and the House of Representatives, controls the legislative branch; and the Supreme Court, held as the highest judicial body they have, is vested within the courts of the Philippines. Within their country contrary to ours, they hold elections every three years instead of our two. These elections have been held on the second Monday of May since 1992. The winners of these elections begin their time in office on the following June 30th. Although the Philippines have a democracy, not all of the regions within it have political power. Within the local government s cities, provinces, municipalities and barangays, some regions merely exist just for the use of administrative purposes. (Doing Business In the Philippines, n.d.). The notion of register presents the interface between the use of specific code and a particular configuration of situational variables. One way of pinpointing a register is to identify a communicative event along the dimensions.[11] Halliday distinguishes three general types of dimension: field , mode and tenor .[12] The three dimensions will be discusses point by point. The first point of dimensions is field . Field is social setting and purpose of the interaction.[13] Moreover, Hudson stated field is concerned with the purpose and subject matter the communication.[14] From the two opinions, it is clear that field deals with the purpose of interaction. In the case of an academic article in a professional journal, for example, the field should be the subject matter of the article, and the purpose in publishing it would be to spread the argument and ideas among academic colleagues.[15] The second point is tenor . Tenor depends on the relations between participants.[16] In addition, Stockwell mentioned that tenor refers to the relationship between the participants in the event.[17] For example, when a student is talking to a teacher, an offender to a police officer, an office worker to a superior, or a ... • 40. Research And Development Cost Analysis Today, companies are increasing their spending on research and development more than ever before. Research and development costs are the costs that a company incurs to either improve its existing products and processes, or develop entirely new endeavors. Thus, as research and development costs are now inevitable for businesses in order to beat out competitors, it is important to understand the accounting treatment for these costs under the guidance of both GAAP and IFRS. Both research and development costs are expensed as incurred under GAAP; however, there is further guidance regarding the accounting treatment of software development that allows for possible capitalization of related development costs. A report issued by PWC states that,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 18). Once these criteria are met, development costs can then be capitalized and amortized over a period of time and as a result, would show the recognition of the continuous benefit from the development costs that contributed to the asset. An important point for companies that are following IFRS guidelines here is to differentiate between costs that are related to research activities and those related to development activities, since they require different treatments. According to KPMG, the definition of what constitutes research costs versus development costs is very similar between IFRS and GAAP; however, neither provides a clear definition that easily differentiates the two categories (IFRS, 2017). Because of the different accounting treatment required, it is imperative that a company develops processes and controls that allow the distinction to be made based on the nature of different activities. This ensures the most accurate representation of research and development costs presented in the financial statements of an entity. The previously discussed guidance is pertaining to intangible assets that were developed by the entity itself; there is separate guidance regarding research and development costs related to intangible assets obtained through the acquisition of another company. • 44. British Independence When Britain first created the colonies, they thought they had really done something and that the colonies would forever be ruled by them. Although this sounded good to both the colonies and Britain at first, the Continentals soon changed their minds. The colonists broke away from British rule mainly because of implementation of the Sugar Act, Stamp Act, Tea Act, and the Intolerable Acts; all of which were imposed by Parliament. In 1776, Parliament passed the Sugar Act. The act increased the prices on all sugars that the colonies used. The profits from it went directly to Britain to pay for the French and Indian War debt. This upset the colonists because they were previously told that they would not have to pay for any of the war, then the King of England imposed this tax on them anyway. This began the colonists anger toward Britain. The Stamp Act was passed in 1765, it required the colonists to pay a tax on any printed paper goods that they used, and they had to have a stamp on them proving that the tax was paid. This was the first direct tax imposed on individual colonists. All of the proceeds went toward British soldiers, which did not benefit the colonists at all.
