Summary
 The railway reservation system project is
an application that allows users to book
train tickets online. It automates the
process of booking, managing, and
cancelling train tickets, and provides a
convenient and hassle-free experience to
users.
Tools and Technology Used
 Front End :-
1. HTML
2. CSS
3. Javascript
 Back End :-
1. PHP
2. My SQL
Features of Proposed System
 User Registration and Login: This feature allows users
to create an account and log in to the system with their
credentials.
 Train Route and Schedule: The system should provide
information about the train routes, timings, and
schedules, along with information about the availability
of seats.
 Ticket Booking: This feature allows users to search for
available trains and book their tickets by selecting their
preferred train, seat type, and payment method
Limitation of Proposed System
 Network connectivity: The railway reservation system relies on
network connectivity for booking tickets, checking availability, and
generating reports. If the network connectivity is poor, the system
may become slow or unresponsive, affecting the user experience.
 Capacity constraints: The system has a limited capacity to handle a
certain number of users at a time. When the system is overloaded, it
may crash or become unavailable, causing inconvenience to the
users.
 Security: The railway reservation system stores sensitive data,
including personal information of the users, payment details, and
travel itinerary. The system needs to implement robust security
measures to prevent unauthorized access and protect user data.
Users and their role description
 Admin: The Admin is responsible for managing the railway
reservation system. They have full access to the system and can
perform tasks like managing user accounts, setting up train
schedules and routes, setting ticket prices, and generating reports.
 Ticketing agent: The ticketing agent is responsible for selling
tickets to customers at the railway station. They use the railway
reservation system to check ticket availability, make reservations,
and print tickets.
 User: The user is the end customer who uses the railway
reservation system to book train tickets. They can browse through
the available train schedules and routes, check ticket availability,
make reservations, and pay for the tickets.
