Research was conducted into existing effective radio trailers. Most successful trailers used short clips from documentaries to create interest and attention. Trailers ranged from 30 seconds to 1 minute. They ended with the title, date, and channel to make this information most memorable to the listener. Drawing from these examples, the radio trailer created used overlapping clips from the documentary and a concluding voiceover providing the name, topic, date, channel and time to pique listener interest and compel them to watch the full documentary.
