Complete Radial nerve palsy (Very
high)
Site : Axilla
Causes:
1.Crutch palsy
2.Axillary artery aneurysm
3.Shoulder surgery or trauma
Complete nerve palsy :
All functions are lost
Motor: Elbow extension
Supination
Wrist extension( wrist drop)
Finger extension( finger drop)
Sensory: All sensory areas supplied
High radial nerve palsy
Site : In the Spiral groove
Causes: 1.# Shaft of humerus M/3rd.
2.Torniquet palsy.
Functions lost:
1. Elbow extension weak(but present )
2. Supination lost
3. Wrist drop
4. Finger drop
5. Lower lateral cutaneous nerve of arm and
posterior cutaneous nerve of arm.
