This document is a presentation by Airbus Defence and Space about their Geo-Intelligence business. It discusses Airbus' satellite fleet including SPOT, Pléiades, TerraSAR-X, and others. It provides examples of how Airbus provides satellite imagery solutions to support security operations like the 2012 London Olympics, disaster response in Niger, and offshore resource exploration in Newfoundland. The presentation outlines Airbus' markets, solutions, and global network to deliver geospatial intelligence and enable smarter decision making for customers.
For 25 years, Spirent has been at the forefront of testing for Global Navigation Systems (GNSS) and alternative positioning technologies – supporting military to consumer device developers.
Discover:
- A review of the GNSS landscape: space, control and user segments
- The importance of professional testing of GNSS-based systems
- An introduction to Spirent’s market-leading GNSS test products and services
Drones are shaping the construction industry as we know it. There are obvious - and less obvious - applications of these flying wonders for the construction and engineering industries. In this post, we look at the ‘state of the art’ as it is today, and touch on a few key themes for the future.

Testing for Agility: Bringing Testing into EverythingCamille Bell
A testing focus can drive agility in every aspect of software development. Topics include: the cost of waiting to test, how waterfall can be transformed into agility with feedback, how testing can drive requirements discovery, testing your vision, testing during development, testing as part of integration and deployment, testing for customer acceptance, agile ratios of different types of tests, agile testing for bug fixes and maintenance, management concerns for agile testing and code coverage.
It is once again time to reflect on WomenPowerConnect’s work and achievements over the last three months. WPC has continued to develop and expand its advocacy agenda and targeted concern for women on child marriage supported by Ford Foundation, Women’s land rights and property supported by Oxfam India, and Enhancing access of the Mobile population to HIV & AIDS services’ information & support in collaboration with Care India. The projects in hand are progressing well along with other activities. Many achievements have been made in advocacy and networking while many new highs have to be touched in the coming months. Apart from the ongoing projects WPC has been involved in various advocacy and campaign related activities demanding the passage of the Women Reservation Bill, awareness on The Hindu Succession Amendment Act 2006, For close to 6 months, the organization and its network partners across the country are making efforts to get gender concerns reflected in the manifestos of different political parties for the 16thLokSabha Election. The large adoption of wireless devices goes further than WiFi (smartmeters, wearable devices, Internet of Things, etc.).
The developers of these new types of devices may not have a deep security background and it can lead to security and privacy issues when the solution is stressed.
However, to assess those types of devices, the only solution would be a dedicated hardware component with an appropriate radio interface for each one of them.
That is why we developed an easy-to-use wireless monitor/injector tool based on Software Defined Radio using GNU Radio and the well-known scapy framework.
In this talk, we will introduce this tool we developed for a wide range of wireless security assessments: the main goal of our tool is to provide effective penetration testing capabilities for security auditors with little to no knowledge of radio communications.
Multimedia document processing using the Weblab platform: AXES project use ca...OW2
AXES (http://axes-project.eu) was a project co-funded by the European Union’s Seventh Programme for Research, Technological Development and Demonstration. The goal of AXES was to develop tools that provide various types of users with new engaging ways to interact with audiovisual libraries, helping them to discover, browse, search and enrich video archives.
The OW2 WebLab (http://weblab-project.org) integration platform for multimedia processing has been used to aggregate the services developed by 9 partners in order to build the three demonstrators targeting various user groups: the media professionals, the journalists and researchers as well as the home users.
As a result of the AXES project, OW2 "Open AXES", is born. It provides a complete solution that gathers innovative audiovisual content analysis technologies (shot and keyframes detection, image classification, speech transcription, large scale indexing, similarity search, etc.) as well as an ergonomic interface to retrieve and navigate in video archives.
Big data and mass analytical processing have gained a prime position over the past years in business and have touched almost all domains of society. According to the famous Gartner “3Vs” definition, big data deals with Volume, Velocity and Variety. It enables organizations to exploit information that was previously ignored because there was no reasonable way to process it. One talks about the big data revolution but underpinning this revolution is the capacity to process unstructured data such as written documents, images, audio and videos which make up more than 80 percent of available data today. The WebLab platform aims at building systems providing intelligence solutions from the processing of open source data. Such systems face three major challenges: • Managing large amounts of unstructured data, • Managing the data diversity with the appropriate combination of processing tools , • Allowing the most effective tools to be selected for each processing step. Like Big Data, WebLab addresses intelligence needs and deals with Volume, Variety and Velocity. Can we therefore say that Big Data and WebLab face the same challenges? In fact, it can be argued that Big Data and WebLab are complementary. How can we benefit, then, from the best of both worlds?
