The house is located near the East Side neighbodhood, heading south on Av-
enueO.It’scurrentlocationisinHegewisch,IL,anditisrightnexttoWolfLake.
This client wanted to redeisgn their second floor and due to the new rede-
sign, they wanted to also make some new adjustments to their first floor. The
existing plan of there home was very tight in spaces. They were thinking of
anopenconcepttypeofspacefortherefirstfloor(public)andthesecondfloorthey
were thinking of putting all there bedrooms in that floor.
Thehouseitselfconsistsof1,097sq.ftofexistingspace.Duethenewconceptofan
openfloorplan.Alltheinteriorbearingwallssupportingtheexistingfloorabove
were going to be demolished, including all nonbearing walls in this floor.

3. FLOOR PLAN DESIGNED BY OTHERS
Floor Plan shows the new design of my clients first floor.
This proposed plan was designed by another Architect.
Reason why the client contacted me was because the architect miss calculat-
ed a dimension from the new stairs leading to his new second floor. The new
stairs were shifted 4ft west towards his proposed living room space. There-
fore the client wanted me to give him a new design for his main floor, reposi-
tioning his living room space and designing his kitchen as well as his 1/2 Bath.
REDESIGNED FIRST FLOOR
The redesign of his first floor (below plans), show the demolition (1st Floor
Plan) of existing full bath, demolition of basement access stairs, demoli-
tion of the existing kitchen and demolition of windows that will be replaced.
The new floor plan consists of shifting his living room between the kitchen and a new
Family Room. A new foyer w/closet space is included to give the client a more formal en-
try into his home and allow for them to store coats and any storage component into this
space. A 1/2 bath was designed to increase space into his new living room and kitchen.
The kitchen will have a kitchen island that will sit approximately 6-8 people and will replace
a dining table. Plenty of space to prepare meals on the island. Alot of cabinetry space is
also available on both north-south walls. New stairs to the basement were shifted below
the new stairs to increase efficiency between new second floor, first floor and basement.
