Questionnaire In this questionnaire we asked our potential target audience; teenagers between 16-24 and parents between 30-45. Our target audience involved 16 teenagers and 14 parents. From the results gathered we were able to make vital changes to the documentaries during the planning process of our project. We handed out approximately 30 questionnaires.
This was to find out which participants of the Focus group actively watched documentaries on any TV channel about any subject. Even though we had 24 people who watched documentaries and 6 who didn't. This would still help our research by asking people if they did watch it what would they prefer, so all the answers we got even from the 6 who didn’t watch documentaries were valuable to our research.
This question was to find out whether people preferred an on screen presenter, a voice over or didn’t have a preference. From the results it was clear that people preferred a voiceover so this is what we will be using for our documentary.
This question was to find out what genre of documentary our audience tends to watch. From the results, the most popular option was the scientific option with 15 out of 30 votes. Other popular answers included life stories and comical.
The next question was to find out if people preferred to have an ‘expert opinion’ in the documentary who would advise on the subject of the documentary. From the results, a majority of the participants, 24, preferred an expert opinion, meaning only 6 didn’t think that it was necessary.
Our last question was to discover if people wanted a quest narrative which runs throughout the documentary. From our results we found that people preferred to have one so we will be incorporating this into our documentary.
