Our thriller film aims for a 15 age rating and teenage target audience. It features young actors around age 17/18 and deals with themes like technology and guns that would appeal more to younger viewers. The locations, costumes, and fast-paced editing are intended to create suspense and mystery while remaining relatable for teens.

1. On my previous question I decided that my Thriller should be age rated at 15, this is
because there were weapons and the injuries to the girls face showed that the
narrative included violence. However this wouldn't be rated at an 18 because even
though there is violence it wouldn't be extreme enough to be rated at an 18.
It was our aim to get a teenage target audience ; this would be good as we are this
age range so it will make it easier in creating a film we like ourselves.

2. All of the actors in our Thriller were of the same age 17/18 this meant that they are
aimed at a teenage audience . By having a younger cast it makes our narrative
more believable for them and may allow them to relate to it more. There are two
young girls and a male, by having these actors it appeals to both a female and male
audience. Both Georgia and I are seen as innocent at first, where as Georgia
maybe seen as a subverted stereotype when she is seen hiding the gun.

3. Technology, such as phones are a theme within our opening sequence and are a
big part of teenagers life, this is why we have put them into our thriller because it is
relatable for teens as it would be the first thing that they research for when they are
in danger. The audience can relate to the realism of phones being used regally, as
they would be in real life; it is stereotypical of teenagers to always have their phones
on hem and are suing them at all times.

4. The costumes on the girls during my opening sequences contrasted, the injured girl
was wearing black, and black is usually assumed as an antagonists colour. However
we chose this colour to show that the injured girl (myself) wasn't important at this
moment in time and the most important thing was the injuries on her and why and
what did them.
Georgia was wearing stereotypical teenage girl clothes this allowed the audience to
relate to her, and when she first appears makes them think that she is either in
danger too or she is the protagonist. However we challenged this stereotype when
Georgia hides a gun.
Josh is shown wearing black clothing with a picture on his top. These dark clothes
straight away alert to the audience that he is the antagonist and that he has
something to do with the injuries of the girl.

5. The quick shot of the gun was so that the audience got a piece of the narrative and
understood what was going on without giving too much away. The gun suited the 15
age rating as other images showed that it may have been used to hit the girl but it
hadn't shot her - this then allows the audience think if something else had been used
and where that was or even if Georgia who was hiding the gun and the injured girl
were even related. As Georgia is around the same age as the films rating it makes it
more believable that someone could be in that situation too.
The gun may also be stereotypical to a male audience – the use of this weapon may
make males more inclined to watch this film as it has both weapons and blood through
injuries in it as stereotypically males enjoy the action side of films.

6. The main location in our opening sequence is a stereotypical woodland, this attracts the
audience as it unnerving about who else may be there with them and about who they
cannot see. It may also be scary because it follows conventions of a thriller and other
films have been set there too with dramatic circumstances. The breathing scene added
seriousness of the situation about who is chasing Georgia and it also attracts the
audience when they are asking questions about it.
The location cross-cuts to a dark room, this also raises questions to the audience about
where she is and if she is ok. It also may ask if she is somewhere in the woods or if she
is at another location completely.

7. Our narrative may be more believable for younger audiences and may make them
believe that it may actually happen to them- older adults may not understand the
narrative as much.
Stereotypical items such as guns, phones and a younger cast are more relatable to
younger audiences as these materialistic things may be more important to them than
they would be to an older audience.
More modern thriller films relate around technology more than older films meaning
teenagers are more inclined to watch them.

8. The sound we included was stereotypical to the thriller genre and to our target audience.
Teenagers like more tense upbeat types of music and we used this in our clip in order to
make the audience unnerved by this. By using this music it puts the audience on the
edge of their seats about what is going to happen next.
The editing was fast paced and included a lot of jump cuts between two different
locations, this is exciting for the younger audience and they enjoy the suspense it
creates. However older audiences may not understand the fast pace and are more likely
to get confused easily because of it.
