QUESTION 3

WHAT KIND OF MEDIA INSTITUTION MIGHT
DISTRIBUTE YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT AND
WHY?
Institutions

If our film product were to be distributed to a media
institution we thought an independent company would be
best suited for our film. Most small companies who fund for
small films like ours are usually unknown until there film
has a huge success. As our film has no well known
actors/actresses trying to premier our film to the world with
a big international company would be difficult, because
most large institutions will only use products that will give
them a good name and help them to be recognised, due to
this being one of the main ways they tend to make money.
What we
                                      found out..

Our film would be a low budget British film. We found a
group called Vertigo Films who would have the ability to
provide for our media clip as they specialise in
distributing low budget films. This company would help
the distribution of our media product by having the skills
to work with and improve small films. This in turn would
help our product gain its maximum success and then
perhaps give it the experience and guidance to move
            onto bigger and better opportunities.
VERTIGO FILMS AND PAST DISTRIBUTION
 After Vertigo Films was created in 2002 by a
producer named Allan Niblo, it began to take
on different film opportunities to try and kick-
start itself in the media world. After a few
years of successful work with different film
products, it took on the production and
institutions of the film ‘Bronson’ in 2008, a
    British fiction crime film.
 Skilful production and intuitions were put
into this movie from Vertigo Films, and
therefore lead it to be a huge hit in the
media world, making both the film and itself
    better known.
 Vertigo Films is now in its final stages of
post-production for Street Dance 2 and
now the success of Street Dance 3D. The
company is now very successful with its
movie products it takes on, after hard work
and dedication to the smaller and less well
known films that it once started with.
