2. Internet for finding out information and also getting images Photography camera Blog Mobile Phones HD camera Future states Website for short films MSN Microsoft Word, PowerPoint Slide share Digital Technology Hotmail Sony Vegas Adobe Premier Pro Youtube Photoshop
3. Creativity A2- comedy/drama/ family genre- tried a variety of shots – mostly stuck to the genre conventions AS- psychological/ thriller genre- stuck to the genre conventions Influences- Toy Story and Bagpuss for blockbuster films. Short Films- oktapodi Influences- The Talented Mr Ripley, Cape Fear- looked at the way shots were done,
4. A2- for research we watched short films on the internet,( future states). Ancillary tasks- had to research in to magazines and film posters. AS- for research we watched more opening sequences for films. Animated films such as Oktapodi and Toy Story that follow have the same genre ideas as our production. Research and Planning The Talented Mr Ripley, Cape Fear, Fight Club, Used blog’s instead of folders so organisation skills were much better Due to lack of organisational skills there was not enough research and planning done. Time management skills were much better Researched Theorists and audience
5. Preliminary- editing- no sound, couldn’t flip the image and it was upside down. Couldn’t save. Used Adobe Premier Pro AS- editing- sound was clearer. Transitions in to shots was clear. Wasn’t long enough, so the titles weren’t that long either. Used Sony Vegas Pro9 Shots were unclear. Music was short. Post – Production A2- transitions in to each shot were much clearer. Used Sony Vegas Pro 10 Titles were blurry Voice over were a bit muffled. Reversed soundtrack to increase length After many drafts – ancillary tasks completed from word to publisher – paint to word and then to Photoshop and then to Gimp 2.8
6. AS- we followed the genre conventions for a psychological thriller but didn’t follow the character specifics. Had female representing the killer instead of a male. Majority of psychological genre conventions have male killers. A2- followed the genre specific conventions however we had used stop motion instead of animation. Had a moral at the end of the film as is reflected in the films that we had been researching and looking in to so stuck to the conventions. Using conventions from real media texts Research allowed us to stick closely to magazine and poster conventions. Looked at the layout of the magazine and poster and followed the same ideas. Preliminary – followed task set, used match on action and shot reverse shot, challenged it by using different locations.
