Kat, Elizabeth’sstep mother, comforted Elizabeth after the death of her mother and supported her when her father, King Henry XIII, ignored her and acted like he didn’t like her very much.

She always believed that a husband would try to rule over her.3. Chapter 2: Elizabeth puts her full trust in William Cecil (her chief minister) despite the fact that from the citizens point of view he didn’t deserve it. They thought this because he had been working for the dethroned King (Henry XIII).

Mary tries to kill Elizabeth and take over her thrown. Elizabeth’s generals capture Mary and put her on trial for treason against the queen. Elizabeth was hesitant to sign her death warrant because she didn’t want to take Mary’s life.7. Chapter 4: Elizabeth’s final years were filled with hardship and stress. William Cecil died and a rebellion broke out in Ireland. Also the Earl of Essex tried to over-throw her government. Her own parliament kept pressing her to name a successor.
