2. Observation Pink, Rough on one side and smooth on the other side, crystals, looks like limestone, black spot.
3. IGNEOUS THE ROCK IS FORMED BY MAGMA OR LAVA. SOME ROCKS OF THESE TYPES ARE GRANITE LARGE CRYSTALS AND BASALT SMALLCRYSTALS. COMMON ROCKS OF THESE TYPES ARE : GRANITE ,BASALT,AND PUMICE . SHELBY I GOT THE ROCK FROM ROCK HOUNDS
4. Metamorphic These rocks are formed when a volcano erupts the lava cools on the other rocks. Then over time little crystals are formed. rocks These rocks have little crystal flaks from lava. Quarts, Amethyst, marble, Gneiss, Graphite Metamorphic rocks Dalton
5. Sedimentary How is This Rock Formed? Little pieces of earth get broken down and worn away. They are washed downstream where they settle to the bottom of the lakes, rivers, and oceans. Layer after layer is deposited on top of each. These layers are pressed down more and more through time, until the bottom layers slowly turn into rock. Characteristics Layered appearance, maybe fossils. Common Rocks Sandstone, Limestone, Shale, Conglomerate, and Gypsum. Limestone from Rock Hounds. Sandstone from Rock Hounds. Vicky
6. Conclusion We have come to the conclusion that our rock is an igneous rock. We know this because if you look close, there are big crystals and small crystals. Not little flakes.
