happiness, is what they say. Might sound trivial but
the first thing we generally do when we visit a new
place, or a hotel room, is to look out of the window
to get a view of the place. Window seats in airplanes
have always been in demand. Humans love to explore
the world and windows are a crucial part of it. Not
just that, windows bring in natural light, provide
ventillation, and do so much more. The fenestration
industry in India has undergone remarkable changes,
right from the use of traditional materials like Wood
to high end Smart Window Solutions, newer materials
like Aluminium and uPVC and the varied design &
style options. For designers, windows are a great
opportunity to play around and ampliyfy a home’s

3. “To ensure quality is maintained, UWDMA is introducing
shortly, a three party quality audit for fabricators,” informs
Mario Schmidt, Managing Director, Lingel Windows and
Doors Technologies Pvt Ltd. Highlighting the importance of
strong quality check on the fabricator’s part, he says, “There
will be a big risk if the industry moves into an only price driven
market while overlooking and neglecting the minimum quality
requirements on the product. This will create disappointment to
customers and there will be a big risk that consumer will move
away to other fenestration items.”
Customers Have Realised The Benefits Of upvc
When LINGEL had first come to India in 2006, the market
was at a very nascent stage. Few consumers knew about uPVC
which causes least harm to the environment as no trees are
cut to produce them. “Consumers are now well aware of the
benefits of using uPVC over wood. Besides being eco-friendly,
it also is very efficient in saving energy. Customers have realised
that the windows last longer and therefore requires minimum
maintenance. There are various color options to choose too.

from our complete uPVC hardware range and can be used for
this Aluminium system,’ asserts Schmidt.

Another advanced fenestration solution is the glass house
conservatories. It has high-performance glasses which protects
the inner side of the house from heating up. These kind of glass
houses have a shading system made out of awning fabricated
from special fabrics. This is so advanced that at a click of a
button from your mobile or an app one can control it. This
special feature allows one not to worry about unexpected storm
or wind. In the daytime, the house is protected from the direct
sun and prevents the inner part of the room from heating.
This product is made in Germany and hence it can be used
by architects, engineers and even contractors. They have to
give us the dimension and accordingly we plan and install the
conservatory. Each of these is very carefully crafted keeping
in mind the requirements. This also helps you enjoy smarter
outdoor living and not worry about space. We also have our
wi-fi controlled smart windows called Smart Li which sends
all information on the app.

According to Schmidt, “We are a window fabricator selling all
products under one roof (uPVC, Aluminium, wood) and we are
not working under the umbrella of any system providers. All
product guarantees are given by us only. We provide customised
windows, besides that we provide after sales services. Customers
can contact me directly for any query via email.” Lingel is also a
member of UWDMA and follows the guidelines specified.
To assure the future growth of the industry,
a solid involvement by all the profile system
providers is very much compulsory. Since
the main journey of the product starts only
after the extrusion of the profile section,
it is important that the right guidance and
technical support is provided by the system
providers to the window fabricators.

4. Casement openable windows
The system is designed such that friction hinges can
be used without compromise and easy cleaning of the
shutters is confirmed. All friction hinges are getting
fixed with machine screws for maximum tightness of
the connection so that the safety of the heavy sashes
will be assured.
Further our system has the provision of fixing security
grills. The fixing of those grills can be done without steel
frame. The Grill bars /strips are fixed without visible
screw. LINGEL uPVC/wood doors and window systems
are able to provide mosquito openable mesh shutters.
