This document summarizes the responsibilities of an Electrical & Instrument Leading Hand / REP (Responsible Electrical Person) - Operations at a large multinational LNG exploration and operator company. The key responsibilities include coordinating electrical and instrumentation work across 10 field compression facilities and 2 central processing plants, providing training to staff, ensuring maintenance schedules are followed, developing commissioning procedures, and fulfilling safety responsibilities like using proper PPE and obtaining work permits.

feeding two LNG trains on Curtis island Gladstonefor export alongwith LNG supplied to the domestic market.

Co-ordinate all INLEC lead duties involved with a recently operational natural gas plants including field
compression facilities (10 of) capableof 100Tj a day for each compression facility feedinginto 2 natural gas
trains (CPP – central processing plant) and 2 dehydration plants (TEG) capable of 500Tj per day for high
pressure transportation to Curtis Island Gladstone via an underground pipeline for LNG treatment for
Export.
Whilst providing experience and a heavy background within the electrical trade to provide training and
assessingfor competencies to INLEC staff on our facilities fulfillingtheabove mentioned REP / Assessor role
along with the Lead position. This position makes me accountable for all other INLEC tradesmen on site,
competencies aremaintained alongwith new skillstrainingfor technicians and electrical procedures are up
to date.
Key Duties:
 Direct all E & I works on site at the work front level and support the engineering department to a
strictmaintenanceschedule with issues arisingin thefield includingsolvinginstrument / design faults
associated with a newly operational facility (first of its kind in Australia – LNG from CSG), electrical
faults and engaging vendors off site to resolve issues with their equipment and or instrumentation.
Working closely with ESD / SIS and a heavy compliment of fire and gas instrumentation.
 Develop commissioning procedures, Execute CFT’s (trip testing) SIF testing, SOP’s and Work
instructions in conjunction with the engineering departments including work pack development, risk
assessment development, permit to work issuing and isolation schedules in order to meet the
deadlines set by our schedule.
 Responsible for Preventative Maintenance on electrical motors and their controls (VSD’S),
commissioning of new equipment controlled by DCS, calibration / rebuilding of a control valves,
actuated XV’s (ESD) faultfindingof instrumentation and associated electrical equipment, replacement
of instrumentation and new installation of process improving instrumentation involving MOC
process’s.
 Ensure all required specialized PPE including: flame retardant overalls, safety boots, safety glasses,
gas monitoring equipment is worn at all times on site.
 Converse with coworkers in order to determine how works for each shift are to be initiated via a
toolbox meeting coveringall issues regardingeach job including the risks, equipment needed and any
issues which arosein prior shift(night). Followed by further liaising with coordinator, supervisor and
or engineer to confirmoperational requirements, equipment, risks,staff and so on will be handled for
the day’s works.
 Liaise directly with the operations superintendent and gas plant supervisors regarding the
operational requirements for the equipment to be worked on and or the possible hazardous
implications of working in the vicinity of that piece of equipment including any possible hazardous
environments due to operation and receive a control of work permit system on approval.
 Commission all new plant equipment installations, including all electrical and instrument
components.
 Fill out all relevant safety paperwork including: PJSA, JHA and Control of Work (COW), permit to
work system, right through to the completion paperwork with our CMMS.

2.  Maintain radio contact with board operator for the duration of task ensuring there is no
interruption whilst carrying out all checks, calibrations, adjustments etc.
 Report to Supervisor upon completion of task to inform on completion and the status of the
equipment removed for maintenance or reactive maintenance.
