1. Q1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge
forms and conventions of a real media product?
My media product has developed into a convention of a real media
product, this is because of the way I followed the conventions of real
media products such as Vibe magazine, as it has the same genre to
my product. For my front cover, I followed the convention of real
media products by developing the barcode, masthead, selling line
and issue number, I went further on in development by adding my
images of my cover-star in a medium close-up shot similar to other
real media products. I used tools such as ‘clone stamp’ and
‘brightness’ and ‘contrast’ to improve my images, which is used in
magazines such as Vibe also to improve the quality. I challenged the
use of real media products by locating small images on my double
page spread in anti-clockwise positions to make the double page
spread a bit more different and unique than other real media products
and the content of images they use.
