3. One half of the double
page spread it filled with a very
dominating, powerful picture
of Lady Gaga.
The image is in black and white
which connotes mystery.
Her face is very defined
and serious, which suggests she is
focused on her music.
Yet again, Lady Gaga is
lacking clothing, however, this
time she is wearing chains around
her neck. This could be seen as
very seductive as chains have
sexual connotations.
She is also using direct
mode of address again to
engage the audience
furthermore.
4. The text is on the
right hand side and I like
it like this so I may
consider using it for my
production.
The large “L” is very
noticeable as it is large,
bold, red and
contrasting. It has been
superimposed behind
the text so it is still
readable. It adds colour
to the page and links to
the name and
conventions of the
magazine, Q.
5. The masthead of the page is simply the artists
name, “Lady Gaga”. In order to differ from other
magazines, Q magazine have mainly focused on the
artists surname by capitalising it.
The different fonts can suggest two sides to the
artist. She can be elegant and more feminine,
however she is more well-known for her dominating
character of “GAGA”.
6. The main body
text follows typical
conventions in
magazines as it is
written in columns, in
particular, 3 coloumns.
The typography
is typically small, plain
black font that is
simple to read and
follow.
