1. PUTA
INTRODUCTION –
Rasadravyas can be used safely only after Pharmaceuticals Processing.
These include Mardana,Dhalana,Jarana etc.
Agni plays an important role.
For providing Agni,various putas have been described.

2. IMPORTANCE OF AGNI
 Agni is one of the Panchamahabhoot
 Agni plays a very important role in the formation of any type of medicine.
 Transformation and conversion of dravya and making them for suitable for use.

 Agni used for the Paka ofRasa,Uparasa,Sadharan rasa,Dhatu,Upadhatu,Ratna,Uparatna known as
Puta.

medicine.
When the Rasas,Maharasas,Uparasa undergoes any heating procedure the proper stage of end
product obtained is known as Paka.
This paka should be optimum.It should not be more or less and the formation of such Paka
is the most sensitive index of optimum heating or cooking.Thus the unit of heat required to obtain the
optimum Paka is called as Puta.
Puta indicates the quantitative as well as qualitative measures of heating.

15. Preparation of Puta
A pit is dug in an open space the[diameter and depth] measurement is depend upon the metal and minerals that is to be
