An art journey
By SUSAN H. LINCOLN
Managing Editor
“There is something
special about Perry,”
said adia ertrand,
thoughtfully. Sebastien
Du ois who is always by
her side, either on a tandem
bicycle or painting a mural,
nodded in agreement. “ es,
there is,” he said. “We have
met the nicest people.”
They are French-
Canadian, with lovely
accents, and both declare
the hospitality they have
enjoyed here.
“The longest we’ve ever
stayed anywhere was 0
days,” she said.
“We’ve been here three
weeks,” he added, almost
surprised himself by the
announcement.
The two left uebec,
Canada, in ctober on an art
journey. They have literally
painted their way through a
swath of the nited States
and will eventually head
north and west to return to
the west coast of ancouver.
ut there’s no hurry, and
there’s no time frame. “If
there’s work, we stay,” they
say, almost in unison.
She holds a Master’s
degree in fine arts. e has a
achelor’s degree in music
from the niversity of
Montreal.
“I love art, but music is
my first love,” he admits.
So, for two Sundays, he
has surprised and delighted
the congregation of First
Presbyterian Church by
“taking the bench” and
playing the prelude and
postlude for worship
services on the church’s
pipe organ.
When he heard of the
organ, his network in Perry
introduced him to Fanette
Chesser who commands
the bench regularly, and he
has enjoyed days of practice
and preparation. “I need to
develop my skills further,”
he says.
This assessment of
personal need comes from

“We received notice from

“A check of the radar and

reports of three more water

Dear ditor
n Friday, April , I
escorted my husband to the
courthouse; that in and of
itself is not a memorable
event. ur mode of
transportation was. My
husband is a stroke victim
and he uses an electric chair
outside of our home. e has
a large old chair and a new
smaller chair, which can
give you whiplash because
it stops on a dime.
We have ventured out
to the nursing home in the
chairs, so I e pected bumpy
roads. What I did not e pect
was barriers perilously
blocking our path around
the courthouse.
Weashumansneverreally
notice our surroundings in a
manner beyond simplicity
until faced with une pected
obstacles. eavy doors at
restaurants, grab bars in
bathrooms and tubs are only
a few things which a person
with any form of physical
disability must face on a
daily basis. andicap ramps
are supposed to help people
move with ease without
using steps. The courthouse
ramp is steep and perilous
for the electric chair and
walkers of older people.
The handicap ramp at
Medieval Times in rlando
is the most dangerous entry
into a building I have ever
seen. It took two strong men
to get my husband’s manual
chair to the second oor
entry. The return trip down
was of even greater threat
to the lives of all three. The
handicap ramp at my house
was designed by a federal
government bureaucrat who
is not handicapped. ot to
mention the installers left
one support post in the air.
All this being said,
brings me back to my
adventure in the electric
chair to the courthouse. I
never really noticed the
light posts, sloping bricks
and untrimmed bush
surrounding the courthouse.
The north corner bush is so
large it slams into the face
of everyone and blocks the
handicap right of way. The
chair must swing around the
bush to go either way.
The light posts on the
north side are 2 inches
from the concrete barrier
surrounding the courthouse
and feet inches to the
curb. That seems like
enough space to pass safely
by. ut no, the wheelchairs
must pass over sloped
bricks which tilt toward the
curb. This creates a liability
to the county City The
no parking sign of the
sheriff department stands
close to a light post which
reduces passable space and
dangerous if the wheelchair
driver gets too close.
n the south side of the
courthouse the wheelchair
is subjected to light posts
and sloped bricks in
addition to the reduced
amount of passable space
the wheelchair must
maneuver because the car

Letters to the Editor
Wednesday, April 29, 2015
During my childhood, the
lengthening days of spring
which gave way to summer, were
thick with humidity and with
opportunity. Lightning bugs
affirmed the approach of June,
July and August when the school
doors would close, and the
refrigerator doors would open
wide with lemonade and Jell-O.
It was a magical time.
That is why it is so gratifying--
some 50 years later--to be visited
by the descendants of those same
lightning bugs.
Even as I sit over the hill,
I marvel at their off-and-on
illumination and their internal
clock which brings them to the
landscape every year about this
time, just when the rest of us
want to be outside too. I know
they’re on time because I marked
my calendar last year and their
visits correspond, year by year.
When darkness envelopes our
house, they come to the glass
windows and doors, begging
me to play. They intertwine
themselves in the front door
wreath, and slide up and down
the larger windows.
Green frogs leap in curiosity
if not hot pursuit, hoping to
corner these flashy visitors, but
lightning bugs—even with their
blinking lights--cannot be easily
contained. I’ve yet to witness a
successful attack and, trust me,
I’ve been watching.
As a child, I remember those
nights when we longed for the
sun to go down so we could use
our mothers’ Ball jars to corral
these illuminating insects. Since
air conditioning wasn’t yet a
permanent part of our living,
playing outside was a matter
of survival. By the time the
lightning bugs showed up, we
smelled of grape Koolaid and
sandbox sweat, with dried-up
peanut butter underneath our
fingernails and roly-polies in our
shorts’ pockets.
With a few punched holes in
the lids, our jars would become
the lightning bugs’ new homes,
and we had no idea they wouldn’t
be thrilled.
The bugs also became our own
personal flashlights which didn’t
require batteries.
Plus they were mesmerizing.
Cave man first stared at fire,
and thousands of years later,
we’re just as mesmerized.
Lightning bugs—while not a
conflagration—have an almost
hypnotic effect, quieting the
conversation as their admirers
stare intently at their blinking
lights.
A lightning bug, without his
light, would be a pretty ordinary
bug in the world of ladybugs and
grasshoppers. But when the sun
goes down, and the pink clouds
come out, the curtain goes up on
the Lightning Bug Revue, and it’s
a good time to live in the country.
It’s as if Someone says again, “Let
there be light.”
You can see them far in the
distance, weaving in and out of
pine trees, soaring above roofs
and zooming around corners
like little airplanes with green
warning lights marking their
path in the sky.
Or like pen lights at a Bon Jovi
concert.
Or like the tiny, lighted radar
blips which signaled submarine
traffic in World War II movies.
“Yeah, we used to squish
lightning bugs to get that
fluorescent stuff out, and then
we’d smear it on us,” said
someone who sits at my dinner
table.
Imagine my face; imagine my
horror.
“It worked and that stuff would
last a couple of hours too,” he
added. “We glowed.”
On behalf of all humans to all
members of the Animal Kingdom,
I am very sorry. Boys will be boys.
And lightning bugs surely know
that well.
Plus, I have to look back on my
own humane treatment of the
bugs: capturing them in a jar to
be my personal beacon?!
Maybe lightning bugs are glad
that today’s children are staring
at computer screens and smart
phones.
That inaction enables them to
roam free through the landscape,
humming 12 verses of, “This
little light of mine….I’m going
to let it shine…this little light of
mine….I’m going to let it shine,
let it shine, let it shine.”
It’s either that humming or
the candlelight glow that these
fireflies provide which lights
the path back to simpler times
when, if your name was in lights,
it wasn’t on a marquee, but a
carpet of green grass in a thickly
forested backyard, courtesy of
lightning bugs who, for years,
have been ushering in spring and
summer.
Welcome back.

According to Spradley,
the sirens produced some
confusion from residents
who had not seen the
waterspouts.
“The sirens serve as an
outdoor warning system in
the event of an emergency,”
Spradley said. “If there is
an emergency re uiring the
sirens to be sounded they
should sound repeatedly.
If you hear a loud, steady
sound coming from one
of the sirens in the coastal
area, tune in to a local
radio or T station for
more information. In this
case, weather radar was not
picking up the spouts and
no WS weather alert was
broadcast.
“ earing a siren does not
mean you should evacuate.
ocal radio and television
stations would be the
primary means of providing
information and instructions
to the public. A siren’s
sound would not necessarily
be heard inside homes or
businesses.”
Spradley said they will
consider using e-mail
notifications in conjunction
with the sirens in future
incidents.
“We would rather people
be alarmed and wonder what
is going on than be surprised
by severe weather,” he said.

she says. “We talked. And

e wanted to travel, too,
and the art journey has been
life-changing for both.
“It is most important to
be present in the moment, to
savor it. To be happy about
it. It’s not about the big
things, but the small ones,”
she says.
Sebastien echoes that
sentiment. “ ave the guts

In two weeks’ time,
they sold Sebastien’s car,
bought camping gear and

When asked if her family

The two estimate that they

to be a pleasing climate.
They’ve visited ey West

adia is the patient
component in the

describes himself as a
firecracker. “If there isn’t
a restaurant where you are,

that’s difficult more for
me than adia,” he says.
“I’m always hungry.”
adia, on the other hand,
has been a member of Warm

an organization for cyclists
around the world. “We
were hosts the summer
before we left,” she says,
and he e plains the name.
“ ecause after a full day of
cycling, what you want is a
warm shower.”
She admits, “ eciprocity
is rare you don’t often see
the people you’ve hosted,
but in acksonville, we did
find those we had hosted
during the summer.”
“Perry reminds me of my
hometown,” Sebastien says,
noting that its population is
around 5000 and it’s not to
far from uebec City.
adia is from a suburb of
Montreal “I like big cities,

she said, smiling always

While in Perry, they’ve

attached to their tandem
bicycle, the unit is
feet long. “ verall, the

total of about 500 pounds,”
Sebastien says. They loved

did end up in a alloween

They remember what
days of uphill cycling can
do to you, and have enjoyed
how at the landscape is
in Florida. ut they speak
of these cycling escapades

The most they have cycled
in one day is 0 miles. “ ut
I remember doing 00 miles

“We will cycle for

“When you’re cycling,

adia says, obviously
enjoying memories of

“It’s easier to connect with

drop-- , 0,000--was in
outpatient services, which
include some surgical
procedures, endoscopic
operations, radiological
services and lab work.
verall, this was a five
percent drop in outpatient
revenue and a three percent
drop in total patient revenue.
After accounting for
contractual adjustments with
private insurance provides,
Medicare and Medicaid,
along with charity care
and bad debt, net patient
revenue for the nine months
was .5 million, down
2,000 from the prior year.
Faircloth told
commissioners that about
00,000 of the outpatient
drop was the result of a new
contractual arrangement for
anesthesiology. e also said
one of the primary drivers is
a drop in surgical procedures.
ased on the figures
presented by Faircloth,
surgical procedures are
down eight percent over the
prior year, while endoscopic
procedures are down 2
percent. adiological
procedures are holding
steady with a slightly upward
trend over the past several
years, but laboratory revenue
is down appro imately
200,000.
Meanwhile, on the e pense
side, total e penses were
up 5 ,000 to nearly 20
million for the nine-month
period. Most of the increase
could be found in three
areas salaries and benefits
up 5 ,000 , contract
labor and physician fees up
00,000 and supplies up
20 ,000 .
Faircloth said the increases
in salaries and benefits were
due to additional personnel--
especially in management
information systems MIS
to meet new Medicare
re uirements for electronic
records--and increases
in health insurance for
employees.
DM interim C
Mary escher spoke with
the Taco Times this week
about the financial report,
stating that outpatient
revenue, especially surgical
procedures, is “physician
driven,” adding that the
hospital has still not
recovered from the 20
death of Dr. as Mutnal,
who saw a large number of
patients for DM and was
the hospital’s only family
practice physician who could
also perform surgeries.
As for laboratory
procedures, escher said
one major insurance carrier
changed its health care plan
as to where policy-holders
could go for lab work and
DM was no longer on the
list.
“We need more providers,”
she said, noting the hospital
is continuing its efforts to
recruit new physicians to the
community.
For the nine-month period
in uestion, the hospital
had an operating loss of
2. million, compared to a
55,000 loss the prior year.
DM also received
2,5 ,000 in non-operating
revenue from local, state and
federal sources, which was
down about 00,000 from
the previous year. Although
the hospital received
more money this year in
disproportionate share
hospital DS and low-
income pool IP funding,
the IP money is currently
in uestion with the federal
government and the Florida
egislature at odds over
the e pansion of Medicaid
in the state. DM also saw
a 50 percent reduction in
its federal meaningful use
funding 50 ,000 compared
to million which it has
been receiving for the past
several years for electronic
medical records. Faircloth
estimated DM will only
receive around 00,000 the
ne t fiscal year and then the
program will be finished.
ltimately, the hospital
finished the first nine months
of the current fiscal year with
a negative bottom line of
2 0,000 down . million
from the prior year when the
hospital finished the same
period with a positive bottom
line of , ,000.
Asked this week if she
thought the hospital would
finish the fiscal year with a
positive bottom line, escher
said “no.”
Despite this declaration,
escher said she felt the
hospital was in a “good
place” and that the current
downturn in revenue was
“what happens when we
need providers.”
She did note that
Tallahassee Memorial
ospital’s family practice
in Perry is getting two
physicians, which she hopes
will increase referrals to
DM .
“We need to have new
services and new providers,
and hope our state and federal
governments help hospitals
in rural communities so
we can provide services
and help our community,”
escher said.
Revenue down, expenses up compared to prior year

Looking for a church with a past?
St. Johns celebrates 105th anniversary
Pastor Cody McNeese and the congregation of St. Johns
Christian Fellowship Church in Perry will celebrate 105
years of serving God and the Taylor County community
with a “Homecoming Celebration” on Sunday, May 3.
The church will commemorate this landmark anniversary
with special music, a message, lunch on the grounds and
children’s games following the Sunday morning service
at 11 a.m. Prospective and former members, family and
friends are invited to attend.
St. Johns was founded on March 6, 1910 in the old
McMullen School house in the Dorman community near
the intersection of Puckett and Golf Course Road. The first
pastor of the church (established as St. John’s Free Will
Baptist) was the Rev. A.C. Nelson or “Preacher Nelson,”
and the two original deacons were Daniel Drew Malone --
father of Mary Lou (Malone) Whitfield--and W.H. “Babe”
Bowdoin.
Original charter members included: Mr. W.M. “Wyman”
Cope, Mr. G.W. “Wesley” Cope, Mrs. H.F. “Hester”
Williams Cope, Mrs. Mary A. McGhin Dorman, Miss L.E.
“Laura” Dorman, Mrs. M.S. “Sue” Woods, Mrs. Harriet
“Corrine” Smith Dorman, Mrs. Eliza Lanora “Nora”
Williams Mathis, Mrs. Ida M. Sapp Bowdoin, Mr. Francis
A. Pridgeon and Mr. W.H. “Babe” Bowdoin.
Over the past 100 years the name on the sign has
changed, “but the church remains a schoolhouse with a
strong emphasis on biblical teaching where a close-knit
family of believers continue to gather to fellowship and
learn,” McNeese said. He and the congregation extend a
personal invitation for all to come and worship with them
through praise, music and sound biblical teaching.
“The congregation of St. Johns Christian Fellowship is
excited and committed to furthering the church’s mission
to proclaim the good news of the gospel for the edification,
equipping, and commissioning of God’s people for the
advancement of His kingdom to the praise of His glory.”

  • 2. Dear ditor n Friday, April , I escorted my husband to the courthouse; that in and of itself is not a memorable event. ur mode of transportation was. My husband is a stroke victim and he uses an electric chair outside of our home. e has a large old chair and a new smaller chair, which can give you whiplash because it stops on a dime. We have ventured out to the nursing home in the chairs, so I e pected bumpy roads. What I did not e pect was barriers perilously blocking our path around the courthouse. Weashumansneverreally notice our surroundings in a manner beyond simplicity until faced with une pected obstacles. eavy doors at restaurants, grab bars in bathrooms and tubs are only a few things which a person with any form of physical disability must face on a daily basis. andicap ramps are supposed to help people move with ease without using steps. The courthouse ramp is steep and perilous for the electric chair and walkers of older people. The handicap ramp at Medieval Times in rlando is the most dangerous entry into a building I have ever seen. It took two strong men to get my husband’s manual chair to the second oor entry. The return trip down was of even greater threat to the lives of all three. The handicap ramp at my house was designed by a federal government bureaucrat who is not handicapped. ot to mention the installers left one support post in the air. All this being said, brings me back to my adventure in the electric chair to the courthouse. I never really noticed the light posts, sloping bricks and untrimmed bush surrounding the courthouse. The north corner bush is so large it slams into the face of everyone and blocks the handicap right of way. The chair must swing around the bush to go either way. The light posts on the north side are 2 inches from the concrete barrier surrounding the courthouse and feet inches to the curb. That seems like enough space to pass safely by. ut no, the wheelchairs must pass over sloped bricks which tilt toward the curb. This creates a liability to the county City The no parking sign of the sheriff department stands close to a light post which reduces passable space and dangerous if the wheelchair driver gets too close. n the south side of the courthouse the wheelchair is subjected to light posts and sloped bricks in addition to the reduced amount of passable space the wheelchair must maneuver because the car truck bumpers. Am I the only one who has noticed Probably. Pat Cook Editorial A-2 TacoTimes April 29, 2015 Letters to the Editor Wednesday, April 29, 2015 During my childhood, the lengthening days of spring which gave way to summer, were thick with humidity and with opportunity. Lightning bugs affirmed the approach of June, July and August when the school doors would close, and the refrigerator doors would open wide with lemonade and Jell-O. It was a magical time. That is why it is so gratifying-- some 50 years later--to be visited by the descendants of those same lightning bugs. Even as I sit over the hill, I marvel at their off-and-on illumination and their internal clock which brings them to the landscape every year about this time, just when the rest of us want to be outside too. I know they’re on time because I marked my calendar last year and their visits correspond, year by year. When darkness envelopes our house, they come to the glass windows and doors, begging me to play. They intertwine themselves in the front door wreath, and slide up and down the larger windows. Green frogs leap in curiosity if not hot pursuit, hoping to corner these flashy visitors, but lightning bugs—even with their blinking lights--cannot be easily contained. I’ve yet to witness a successful attack and, trust me, I’ve been watching. As a child, I remember those nights when we longed for the sun to go down so we could use our mothers’ Ball jars to corral these illuminating insects. Since air conditioning wasn’t yet a permanent part of our living, playing outside was a matter of survival. By the time the lightning bugs showed up, we smelled of grape Koolaid and sandbox sweat, with dried-up peanut butter underneath our fingernails and roly-polies in our shorts’ pockets. With a few punched holes in the lids, our jars would become the lightning bugs’ new homes, and we had no idea they wouldn’t be thrilled. The bugs also became our own personal flashlights which didn’t require batteries. Plus they were mesmerizing. Cave man first stared at fire, and thousands of years later, we’re just as mesmerized. Lightning bugs—while not a conflagration—have an almost hypnotic effect, quieting the conversation as their admirers stare intently at their blinking lights. A lightning bug, without his light, would be a pretty ordinary bug in the world of ladybugs and grasshoppers. But when the sun goes down, and the pink clouds come out, the curtain goes up on the Lightning Bug Revue, and it’s a good time to live in the country. It’s as if Someone says again, “Let there be light.” You can see them far in the distance, weaving in and out of pine trees, soaring above roofs and zooming around corners like little airplanes with green warning lights marking their path in the sky. Or like pen lights at a Bon Jovi concert. Or like the tiny, lighted radar blips which signaled submarine traffic in World War II movies. “Yeah, we used to squish lightning bugs to get that fluorescent stuff out, and then we’d smear it on us,” said someone who sits at my dinner table. Imagine my face; imagine my horror. “It worked and that stuff would last a couple of hours too,” he added. “We glowed.” On behalf of all humans to all members of the Animal Kingdom, I am very sorry. Boys will be boys. And lightning bugs surely know that well. Plus, I have to look back on my own humane treatment of the bugs: capturing them in a jar to be my personal beacon?! Maybe lightning bugs are glad that today’s children are staring at computer screens and smart phones. That inaction enables them to roam free through the landscape, humming 12 verses of, “This little light of mine….I’m going to let it shine…this little light of mine….I’m going to let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.” It’s either that humming or the candlelight glow that these fireflies provide which lights the path back to simpler times when, if your name was in lights, it wasn’t on a marquee, but a carpet of green grass in a thickly forested backyard, courtesy of lightning bugs who, for years, have been ushering in spring and summer. Welcome back. Letters to the Editor are accepted and published each week in the Taco Times as space is available. Send letters to P.O. Box 888, Perry, FL 32348; or newsdesk@ perrynewspapers.com. • 3. A-3 TacoTimes April 29, 2015 before they could.” According to Spradley, the sirens produced some confusion from residents who had not seen the waterspouts. “The sirens serve as an outdoor warning system in the event of an emergency,” Spradley said. “If there is an emergency re uiring the sirens to be sounded they should sound repeatedly. If you hear a loud, steady sound coming from one of the sirens in the coastal area, tune in to a local radio or T station for more information. In this case, weather radar was not picking up the spouts and no WS weather alert was broadcast. “ earing a siren does not mean you should evacuate. ocal radio and television stations would be the primary means of providing information and instructions to the public. A siren’s sound would not necessarily be heard inside homes or businesses.” Spradley said they will consider using e-mail notifications in conjunction with the sirens in future incidents. “We would rather people be alarmed and wonder what is going on than be surprised by severe weather,” he said. • 6. A-6 TacoTimes April 29, 2015 drop-- , 0,000--was in outpatient services, which include some surgical procedures, endoscopic operations, radiological services and lab work. verall, this was a five percent drop in outpatient revenue and a three percent drop in total patient revenue. After accounting for contractual adjustments with private insurance provides, Medicare and Medicaid, along with charity care and bad debt, net patient revenue for the nine months was .5 million, down 2,000 from the prior year. Faircloth told commissioners that about 00,000 of the outpatient drop was the result of a new contractual arrangement for anesthesiology. e also said one of the primary drivers is a drop in surgical procedures. ased on the figures presented by Faircloth, surgical procedures are down eight percent over the prior year, while endoscopic procedures are down 2 percent. adiological procedures are holding steady with a slightly upward trend over the past several years, but laboratory revenue is down appro imately 200,000. Meanwhile, on the e pense side, total e penses were up 5 ,000 to nearly 20 million for the nine-month period. Most of the increase could be found in three areas salaries and benefits up 5 ,000 , contract labor and physician fees up 00,000 and supplies up 20 ,000 . Faircloth said the increases in salaries and benefits were due to additional personnel-- especially in management information systems MIS to meet new Medicare re uirements for electronic records--and increases in health insurance for employees. DM interim C Mary escher spoke with the Taco Times this week about the financial report, stating that outpatient revenue, especially surgical procedures, is “physician driven,” adding that the hospital has still not recovered from the 20 death of Dr. as Mutnal, who saw a large number of patients for DM and was the hospital’s only family practice physician who could also perform surgeries. As for laboratory procedures, escher said one major insurance carrier changed its health care plan as to where policy-holders could go for lab work and DM was no longer on the list. “We need more providers,” she said, noting the hospital is continuing its efforts to recruit new physicians to the community. For the nine-month period in uestion, the hospital had an operating loss of 2. million, compared to a 55,000 loss the prior year. DM also received 2,5 ,000 in non-operating revenue from local, state and federal sources, which was down about 00,000 from the previous year. Although the hospital received more money this year in disproportionate share hospital DS and low- income pool IP funding, the IP money is currently in uestion with the federal government and the Florida egislature at odds over the e pansion of Medicaid in the state. DM also saw a 50 percent reduction in its federal meaningful use funding 50 ,000 compared to million which it has been receiving for the past several years for electronic medical records. Faircloth estimated DM will only receive around 00,000 the ne t fiscal year and then the program will be finished. ltimately, the hospital finished the first nine months of the current fiscal year with a negative bottom line of 2 0,000 down . million from the prior year when the hospital finished the same period with a positive bottom line of , ,000. Asked this week if she thought the hospital would finish the fiscal year with a positive bottom line, escher said “no.” Despite this declaration, escher said she felt the hospital was in a “good place” and that the current downturn in revenue was “what happens when we need providers.” She did note that Tallahassee Memorial ospital’s family practice in Perry is getting two physicians, which she hopes will increase referrals to DM . “We need to have new services and new providers, and hope our state and federal governments help hospitals in rural communities so we can provide services and help our community,” escher said. Revenue down, expenses up compared to prior year DMH Continued from page 1
  • 7. A-7 TacoTimes April 29, 2015Religion Looking for a church with a past? St. Johns celebrates 105th anniversary Pastor Cody McNeese and the congregation of St. Johns Christian Fellowship Church in Perry will celebrate 105 years of serving God and the Taylor County community with a “Homecoming Celebration” on Sunday, May 3. The church will commemorate this landmark anniversary with special music, a message, lunch on the grounds and children’s games following the Sunday morning service at 11 a.m. Prospective and former members, family and friends are invited to attend. St. Johns was founded on March 6, 1910 in the old McMullen School house in the Dorman community near the intersection of Puckett and Golf Course Road. The first pastor of the church (established as St. John’s Free Will Baptist) was the Rev. A.C. He and the congregation extend a personal invitation for all to come and worship with them through praise, music and sound biblical teaching. “The congregation of St. Johns Christian Fellowship is excited and committed to furthering the church’s mission to proclaim the good news of the gospel for the edification, equipping, and commissioning of God’s people for the advancement of His kingdom to the praise of His glory.” Mary Jo Thomas Mary Jo Thomas, age 79, of Perry died Thursday, April 23, 2015 in Tallahassee.
