Forgiveness in the Bible is a “release” or a “dismissal” of something. The forgiveness we have in Christ involves the release of sinners from God’s just penalty and the complete dismissal of all charges against us (Romans 8:1).

Mercy is undeserved forgiveness and unearned kindness. Jesus spoke about it often - in the Lord’s prayer, in the Parable of the Unforgiving Servant as well as many other passages. He taught that you not only need to receive God’s mercy, but also give it to others. Through God’s mercy, you receive freedom. When you extend mercy to others, you are helping them experience that same freedom.

Lesson by Mike Smith
The overwhelming need for people today who want to live with a ready mind to serve God faithfully is to develop the attitude of repentance.
This is the third lesson in our series addressing the topic of Christian Evidences - Defending Your Faith. This powerpoint accompanies our lesson on evil, pain, and suffering.
We all rationalize our sins in our own minds. Yet, if we had to face Jesus on the cross, we wouldn't be brave enough to ask him unspeakable things. Yet, His eyes are always watching us.
People outside of Christ reside in darkness (1 John 1:5). Solomon wrote that when we walk in spiritual darkness, we cannot see the dangers around us (Proverbs 4:14-19).
Insurance companies offer accident forgiveness. They argue over which one offers the best program. In fact, God has the best accident forgiveness plan in existence.
The Hope of Salvation - Jude 1:24-25 - MessageCole Hartman
Jude gives us hope at the end of a dark letter. In a dark world like today, we need the light of Christ to shine brighter and brighter. Jude shows us where to fix our focus so we can be filled with God's goodness and glory. Join us to explore this incredible passage.
In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375
2. Introduction Easily one of the most difficult things in life is to admit error. Therefore, repentance is a very challenging command. Luke 13:3-5 Acts 8:22, “Repent therefore of this your wickedness, and pray God if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you.”
3. Perception Versus Reality What we think and what God thinks may differ completely. For example, a child thinks their room is cleaned when Mom has a completely different interpretation.
4. Perception Versus Reality God doesn’t base His judgments on our perceptions. Revelation 20:11-15 Do we see how this impacts repentance?
5. Importance of Repentance J.W. McGarvey said that if he were given miraculous gifts today he would ask for the gift of provoking repentance from his listeners. Acts 17:30, “Truly these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent.” Matthew 4:17, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
6. Importance of Repentance Repentance is more than being sorry for sin. Matthew 27:3, “Then, Judas, His betrayer, seeing that He had been condemned, was remorseful and brought back the 30 pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders.” Acts 1:25, “Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.”
7. Importance of Repentance “Repentance is something that stands between sorrow for sin and the change of life in which sins are abandoned and a better course of conduct begins. When a man is so thoroughly filled with sorrow and mourning and self-reproach on account of his sins that his will is subdued to the will of God, and he says, I will sin no more, I will hereafter submit to the will of God, this results in a change of life, and it is repentance, a change of will in regard to sin.”
8. Repentance Is… Repentance is godly sorrow. We must see our sins as God sees them. 2 Corinthians 7:10, “For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.”
9. Importance of Public Repentance Churches throughout the world have people that need to repent of their sins but they do not do so. Problems have resulted from this refusal and division and doubt have resulted. We are to be lights to the world.
10. Public and Private Sin Secret sin (Psalm 90:8). National sin (Proverbs 14:34, “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people”). Open sins (1 Timothy 5:24, “Some men’s sins are clearly evident”). If the sin is public or private, what should the repentance be?
11. Why Do People Not Repent? Denial of Sin Defiance Comparison Game Public Opinion 2 Corinthians 10:12-18
12. Public Sin Requires Public Repentance Acts 8:14-25 Congregation knew Simon’s sin. Peter rebuked him publicly.
13. Public Sin, Public Repentance Simon’s repentance had to be public so the congregation would know he had repented. His example was crucial before the people.
14. Simon’s Soul Was the Priority This is the only relationship that matters (8:22). When we focus on God our focus is vertical. When we focus on others, it is horizontal. In the latter situation, we are no longer focused on God.
15. Repentance Requires Fruit Matthew 3:8, “bear fruits worthy of repentance.” It is not real unless the fruit is real. Repentance is a true change of life before God AND man.
