Marion Crane steals $40,000 from her employer and flees town to start a new life in California. Tired of her current situation, she pulls into the Bates Motel run by Norman Bates and his mother. Directed by Alfred Hitchcock, Psycho was a low-budget 1960 film that was nominated for several Oscars and won Janet Leigh a Golden Globe for her role as Marion. While some critics found it confusing, audiences and most reviews praised Hitchcock's suspenseful psychological thriller.

message that stirred the audiences, nor was it a
great performance...they were aroused by pure
film.”
 It has a IMDB rating of 8.6 stars and users have
‘the best Hitchcock movie? It's definitely one of
his best’
 NY times said it was ‘low-budget […] minimum
complication […] slow paced […] flat
denouement’ – so overall in their opinion it was
not great, however this is one of the very few
negative reviews.
