picture the absolute stability of being found in God. At least five nouns describe God’s
protection: “rock, salvation, defense” (verse 2), “glory”, and “refuge” (verse 7). The lament
(verses 3-4), again concerns his enemies. However, from his confident position he is able to
exhort others to trust in the Lord (verses 8-12).
