David expresses confidence in God and prays that he will not be put to shame by his enemies. He asks God to teach him God's ways and paths. David also prays for forgiveness of his sins from his youth and for help in his current afflictions, troubles, and distress. He asks God to guard his soul, deliver him from his enemies who hate him violently, and redeem Israel from all their troubles.
