Isaiah said that all our righteousness is like filthy (menstrual) rags. Good for nothing, trash, throw it away! I have no gift to bring to God. What could I bring Him that would matter? Only my life, soul and spirit and that is only because Jesus died for me. I will not glory in my righteousness - only in the cross of Jesus!

The Book of Joshua is the sixth book in the Hebrew Bible and the Old Testament, and is the first book of the Deuteronomistic history, the story of Israel from the conquest of Canaan to the Babylonian exile.
In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

5. With all my heart I praise the LORD, and with all that I am I praise his
holy name! With all my heart I praise the LORD! I will never forget how
kind he has been. The LORD forgives our sins, heals us when we are
sick, and protects us from death. His kindness and love are a crown on
our heads. Each day that we live, he provides for our needs and gives
us the strength of a young eagle.
For all who are mistreated, the LORD brings justice.
He taught his Law to Moses and showed all Israel what he could do.
The LORD is merciful! He is kind and patient, and his love never fails.
The LORD won't always be angry and point out our sins; he doesn't
punish us as our sins deserve. How great is God's love for all who
worship him? Greater than the distance between heaven and earth!
6. How far has the LORD taken our sins from us? Farther than the
distance from east to west! Just as parents are kind to their children,
the LORD is kind to all who worship him, because he knows we are
made of dust. We humans are like grass or wild flowers that quickly
bloom. But a scorching wind blows, and they quickly wither to be
forever forgotten. The LORD is always kind to those who worship him,
and he keeps his promises to their descendants who faithfully obey
him. God has set up his kingdom in heaven, and he rules the whole
creation.
All of you mighty angels, who obey God's commands, come and praise
your LORD! All of you thousands who serve and obey God, come and
praise your LORD! All of God's creation and all that he rules, come and
praise your LORD!
With all my heart I praise the LORD! (PS 103, CEV)

14. Increasingly the theology of Protestant liberalism crept in in
three key areas—the nature of salvation itself; the
decisiveness and uniqueness of Christ as Saviour; and the
familiar sexuality issues. One need do nothing to be saved,
for God loves you unconditionally, just as you are, by virtue
of your creation. Repentance and amendment of life are
beside the point. Christianity and the other great religions
are on different tracks to the same destination; evangelism
is replaced by dialogue. Christian moral requirements in
sexual life are out-dated and need sharp revision.
Inclusivism, universalism, and revisionism became the leit-
motifs of the ELCA at its elite levels. Slowly they have
filtered down to the parish level.

There is no room for anything but praise in David’s heart. He has experienced God through both good and bad times and knows Him. He is what the scriptures say.
The benefits of knowing God – Burn’s car story?
Exodus 34v6,7
God’s love and forgiveness are immeasurable. Why would we want to ever take our sins back?
So, knowing God, how will you respond to Him? Is it a knowing based on the scriptures alone, or a knowing based on a relationship that reflects what the scriptures say?
SO why feature my mum and dad's wedding in this Psalm? They got to know each other by letter, but once they lived together they got to know each other in a deeper way – an intimate way. When you are together the words of letters become meaningless as you discover the realities of life together. The road for David was not a smooth one – he fought for everything he had; he was hassled continually by those who wanted him dead, even member’s of his own family as well as his closest friends, yet he clung to God because he knew him to be exactly as his words described. Did he struggle at times? Yes, we know he did, but the God he knew always came through. For us, knowing the words is not enough – we need to know God each and every day in a deeper way. For us, the words of scripture become an assurance of who God is, but they need to be real for us each and every day, just as they were for David.Praise and worship of Him flows naturally then because it’s not just words anymore. Our daily life testimony assures us that God is as His words describe.
