The document discusses Keras.js, a library that allows running Keras models in the browser. Keras.js can load Keras models saved in HDF5 format along with weights and metadata files. It supports running models on the GPU or CPU via WebGL. The document provides an example of using Keras.js to load a model, make a prediction on input data, and log the output. It also links to a GitHub repository with a machine learning rock-paper-scissors demo built with Keras.js.
To Hire, or to train, that is the question (Percona Live 2014)Geoffrey Anderson
"We're hiring!"
How many times have you heard this phrase at a conference? Every database-driven company is hiring and that makes for pretty stiff competition when trying to get a new DBA. Instead of searching for the perfect database administrator from a conference or Linkedin, why not look internally at your organization for system administrators or engineers who may be an equally good fit given the right training.
In this talk, I'll explain how the DBAs at Box developed a knowledge-sharing culture around databases and disseminated important learnings to other members of the company. I'll also cover the mentorship process we established to train other members of our Operations team to become rock star DBAs and manage our MySQL and HBase infrastructure at Box.
This document provides recommendations and best practices for configuring and deploying Elasticsearch clusters. It discusses topics like using multiple shards to improve performance and reliability, setting an appropriate number of replicas, configuration options for discovery and unicast hosts, monitoring cluster health, tuning JVM and memory settings, and techniques for reindexing and backing up data.
Caching can simplify code, reduce traffic, and allow content to be viewed offline. There are different approaches to implementing caching, such as creating separate tables for each entity or using a single table with URL and response fields. Common HTTP cache-control headers help manage caching by specifying rules for validating cached responses and restricting caching. Both Android and iOS provide APIs for enabling caching with URL connections and requests.

THE RED METHOD: HOW TO INSTRUMENT YOUR SERVICESInfluxData
In this talk, Tom Wilkie will discuss patterns of application instrumentation, where and when they are applicable, and how they can be implemented with Prometheus. He’ll cover Google’s Four Golden Signals, the RED Method, the USE Method, and Dye Testing. He’ll also discuss why consistency is an important approach for reducing cognitive load. Finally, he’ll talk about the limitations of these approaches and what can be done to overcome them.
early benchmarks on pre-release Gnocchi v4. includes benchmark comparison between all-ceph v3.x driver versus all-ceph v4 driver. also, shows benchmark using redis+ceph deployment.
Redis is a key-value store that can also be used as a publish-subscribe server. It features high speed, data persistence, transactions, replication, and supports common data types like strings, hashes, lists, sets, sorted sets. It has many client libraries and can be used for caching, sessions, storing unrelated data, collecting statistics, communication between processes, and building simple graphs.
This document summarizes the author's experience optimizing Gnocchi, an open source time-series database, to store metrics for hundreds of thousands of resources over many months. The author describes improving performance by adding Ceph storage nodes, tuning Ceph configurations, minimizing I/O operations, and improving the storage format. Benchmark results show the new version achieves 50% higher write throughput, 40-60% faster computation times, 30-60% better overall performance, and 30-40% fewer operations. Usage hints are also provided to help optimize for different use cases.

Elasticsearch is a distributed, RESTful search and analytics engine built on top of Apache Lucene. After the initial release in 2010 it has become the most widely used full-text search engine, but it is not stopping there.
The revolution happened and now it is time for evolution. We dive into the following questions:
- What are shards, how do they work, and why are they making Elasticsearch so fast?
- How do shard allocations (which were hard to debug even for us) work and how can you find out what is going wrong with them?
- How can you search efficiently across clusters and why did it take two implementations to get this right?
- How can new resiliency features improve recovery scenarios and add totally new features?
- Why are types finally disappearing and how are we avoid upgrade pains as much as possible?
- How can upgrades be improved so that fewer applications are stuck on old or even ancient versions?
This document discusses testing Node.js applications. It recommends using the Mocha test framework along with the Chai assertion library and Supertest module. An example is provided showing how to test the Math.abs() function using Mocha, Chai, and expect assertions to validate results are equal to expected positive values regardless of input. A second example tests an HTTP server using the Supertest module.
The document discusses tips and tricks for using the MongoDB shell. It describes what the shell is, advantages like debugging queries and testing, and disadvantages like JavaScript numbers and dates. It provides examples of shell commands and functions for operations like inserting, updating, removing data as well as profiling and administration. The document recommends using tab completion and help functions, and introduces the .mongorc.js file for customizing shell startup.

This document provides an overview of wound healing, its functions, stages, mechanisms, factors affecting it, and complications.
A wound is a break in the integrity of the skin or tissues, which may be associated with disruption of the structure and function.
Healing is the body’s response to injury in an attempt to restore normal structure and functions.
Healing can occur in two ways: Regeneration and Repair
There are 4 phases of wound healing: hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling. This document also describes the mechanism of wound healing. Factors that affect healing include infection, uncontrolled diabetes, poor nutrition, age, anemia, the presence of foreign bodies, etc.
Complications of wound healing like infection, hyperpigmentation of scar, contractures, and keloid formation.

In Odoo, making a field required can be done through both Python code and XML views. When you set the required attribute to True in Python code, it makes the field required across all views where it's used. Conversely, when you set the required attribute in XML views, it makes the field required only in the context of that particular view.
