Rafael Nadal is a professional tennis player from Spain. He was born in 1986 in Mallorca and began playing tennis at age 8. By age 12, he had won several Spanish and European titles. While also playing soccer as a youth, Nadal's father encouraged him to focus on tennis. At age 14, he moved to Barcelona to further his tennis training. By age 17, Nadal was ranked in the top 50 players in the world. He has won numerous Grand Slam titles, especially the French Open, and has had a long rivalry with Roger Federer. Nadal is known as the "King of Clay" for his dominance on clay courts.
