- Attainment has improved at all levels across each of the nine measures at KS1. Presentation giving the L2B+ graphs because they are the statistical indicator of being securely on track for L4+ at KS2 We do not have national data yet, but given the strong outcomes at KS1 and good conversion rates, we are well placed to continue to improve outcomes at the end of primary stage Reading L2+ 89% (up 2ppts) Minimum age related expectation L3+ 28% (up 2ppts)
- Particularly good improvement at L2B+ up 5ppts on 2012 L2+ 84% (up 2ppts) L3+ 14% (up 2ppts) These outcomes evidence the impact of focussed work in many primary schools on writing
- Again a significant improvement at L2B+ of 4ppts L2+ 91% (up 1ppt) L3+ 22% (up 3ppts)
- Reporting arrangements have changed at KS2 for 2013. The floor standard measure in 2013: Fewer than 60% of pupils attaining L4+ in all of reading, writing (TA) and maths Below the median for progression in reading, writing (TA) and maths National results for KS2 are expected to be announced today (possibly during the HT meeting) The new Spelling Punctuation and Grammar will not be published The graphs we have to share are against the new measures but we only currently have comparative data for 2 years. The KS2 data packs are also being re-worked to present against the new measures
- Graph shows the percentage of pupils that achieved L4+ in all three measures
- Although an overall improvement a number of schools saw a drop in outcomes, with 12 schools having a drop of 10+ ppts in reading. It would be helpful to have feedback from schools on the test this year Equally the Spelling, Punctuation and grammar (SPaG) test saw significant variation in outcome and it will be useful to review school level analysis There is a headteacher English group facilitated by Trish Dodds (SIO) which could draw this together
- A significant increase of 3 ppts, which again reflects the improvements made at KS1 and the focus of many schools on writing
- Maths has made a 1 ppt gain
- These outcomes were published last week and are different from the early provisional results – again we still need national These provisional results indicate a 1 ppt rise in reading and maths and a drop in writing
