This document discusses protein and disease networks and is divided into three parts. Part 1 discusses temporal networks of protein interactions that change over time and the challenges of representing dynamic networks statistically and visually. Part 2 discusses association networks like STRING that identify protein links through large data mining. Part 3 discusses constructing disease networks from a national hospital discharge database to find correlated disease relationships and the difficulties of visualizing networks with many nodes and edges.
