3G/4G/5G Core network
1 Requirements
1)60 eNodeBs and 3000 CPE terminals
2)The frequency band of eNodeB is band 7
3)The throughput
From the point view of eNodeB:
The compact eNodeB is able to support 200 Mbps throughput and the Macro eNodeB can support 500Mbps
throughput.
So the throughput of the network is: 225Mbps × 20 + 600Mbps × 40 ≈ 29Gbps
From the point view of Subscribers:
The subscriber’s number is 50K, the average throughput of each user is 500Kbps.
So the throughput of the network is: 50K × 500Kbps ≈ 25Gbps
As the result, the throughput of the core should be 30Gbps or more.
4)IPLOOK provides MME, HSS, SGW,PGW, OCS, BOSS, eNodeB and CPEs

2 Network logical topology
The EPC, OCS and BOSS are all deployed in
packet core room. They will be deployed over
four 2U servers. MME, HSS,OCS, BOSS and
PCRF will be deployed through 1+1
redundancy way, and XGW will be deploy by
N+1 mode to compose a GW pool for
reliability.

3 The network resources
1)The transmitting system
The basic guarantee for 4G transportation between eNodeB and EPC

2)Private IP address
Leave 172.24.0.0/24 free for inside communication and another 16 private IP
addresses are needed for connection between MME, HSS, SGW, PGW, PCRF, OCS,
BOSS.
3) UE IP addresses pool
The number should be the same as UEs. However, they are different from the packet
core’s IP addresses.

4 Network expansion
The XGW in the GW pool are
deployed in load sharing and
redundant way. When one XGW
break down, the MME will choose
the available. After the broken XGW
restart, MME will select it again.
If you want to expand LTE
network,then more servers should
added into the GW pool.
