Collaborations between industry and universities in the field of informatics are associated with many challenges. In this talk, we describe our experiences in collaborating on various projects and the collaboration process we followed. To facilitate such collaborations, we have been working on a portal that provides services from academia to industry, which proved to be no easy task. This talk reports on our experiences and pitfalls and also aims to stimulate a discussion on how such collaborations can be better implemented.
The UKCCSRC Data and Information Archive holds digital data from UKCCSRC and EPSRC-funded CCS projects. Recent additions include presentations and posters from UKCCSRC events. EPSRC now requires research data supporting publications to be archived before publication, with metadata created within a year. The UKCCSRC Archive provides guidance on archiving project data, including describing data with metadata and addressing any confidentiality issues. Researchers should manage data properly throughout their projects and deliver the final data to their institutional or the UKCCSRC Archive.
Integrating collections data to build sustainable online resourcesMuseums Computer Group
The Museum of London integrated its collections data to build sustainable online resources. Previously, data was scattered across different systems. A new Collections Online system was created, featuring a central repository and single search. The Picturebank project helped test this new infrastructure by uploading records to the repository for contextualization and reuse across contexts. Lessons included taking time to establish foundations, collaborative working, and designing for future sustainability and reuse.

This document discusses building a software tool to archive websites using web crawling and blockchain technology. It proposes a system that crawls websites, stores web page content and metadata in WARC files, and records this information in a blockchain database with two layers - a domain blockchain to store domain information and a web content blockchain to store WARC files. This approach aims to provide a consistent and secure system for archiving websites while allowing users to monitor and analyze archived web content. The document reviews related work on web archiving and outlines the proposed system architecture and implementation requirements.
