Proposal and Treatment Assignment
Song Choice – JUST STAND UP
1) Narrative and Performance
Section 1 - a girl comes out of the hospital with a leaflet on hand. We will do a close shot on the
leaflet which shows cancer the work cancer. She looks upset and walks down the stairs and walk
into the street. Singer is in the scene and sings the song and the girl walks right past her. Story
goes into the house, singer is there in the room and the girl is crying on the bed with the leaflet in
front of her.
Fades into black background
Section 2 – a boy in the alleyway buying drugs of other boys. Singer singing during the scene. Boy
runs past the singer and goes home. Puts the drug on the table and just sits and stares at it. While
singer still singing the song. Boy looking confused a tempted.
Fades into black
Section 3 – a little girl in her bedroom crying due to abuse. She is sitting on the floor against the
door, crying out of fear cuddling her pillow. Singer singing next to her likes spirit of comfort. Room
will have toys and games. Be a fresh pink room.
Section 4 – black background, while singing the ending everyone gets together. The girl, the boy
and the little girl including other people through gender, race, ethnicity, height and age. We will
have them dancing in small movements, laughter, smiles to show they have made it through.
Close shots on them holding hands. Fading in and out.

4) Actors/Performers
Drug Role
They will be either a male or female. They will wear a black hooded top with low batty jeans. We
did a bit of research on types of clothing. We realised that this type of clothing is very
stereotypical.
Abused Role
We were thinking of using a little girl to show vulnerability. She will wear baggy clothing, to show
she is trying to cover her pain. This is so we can see the marks of abuse on her legs and arms. She
adopt a vulnerable personality.
Cancer Role
We were thinking around the age of 21. Top and jeans – casual.
