In the wake of Thomas Hackettmurderthe police findwhatwasresponsibleforhisdeath.Red
roomsonline were thoughttobe a urban mythbut inrecentyearshave become a gruesome and
profitable trend.Inthisfilmwe see ThomasHackett’sfinal days,and hismurder.
The Logline
From the perspectiveof ahome invader,Thomasgoesabouthisdailybusinessunawareof the home
invaderstalkinghimandgettingcloserwitheachpassingday.
ScreenplayStructure
Act one
The filmstarts ina dark room andwe see the outline of aman typingona computer.We see that his
computerpage ison a redroom fromthe dark web.The page thenturns to a Facebookprofile of
Thomas,
Act two
The stalkerstarts to followThomasabouthisdailyroutine,gettingcloserand closerwithoutThomas
realisingthathe isbeingwatched.
Act Three.
The stalkergetsintoThomas’shouse andkillsThomasinhissleep.Returningtothe home invaders
mysteriousdarkroomwe see himuploadingthe videoof Thomasbeingstalkedtheneventually
killed.
Characters
Thomasis the leadcharacter howeverwe see everythingfromthe home invadersperspective.
Thomasis an ordinarytype of guy withfamily.Thomascouldbe anyone;he’sjustaregularpersonso
whenthese actsof violenceoccuritsmore shockingforthe audience.
The home invader,youneversee hisface buthe isa representationof the urbanmythof red rooms
online.He representsthe unnecessaryviolence thesesitesbring.
FilmTreatment
“There was 671 homicidesin2020, 34 percentof themwere filmedandpostedonthe darkwebin
redrooms where thousandspaidtowatchthese innocentpeople be slaughteredintheirown
homes.Insome instancesthese murderscouldbe chosenbythose repulsive viewers;one of these
chosenvictimswasThomasHackett”.In a dark room we see the figure of a man; hisfigure outlined
by the redglowof hiscomputerscreen.Hisscreenthenswitchesovertoanotherpage aswe hear
hislifelessbreathing whilsthe staresintothe screen.The screenisona Thomas’sFacebookpage.

2. At nightThomasisalone inhishouse,unaware tothe darkfigure thatis watchinghimfromoutside
hishouse.Thomasturnsoff all the lightsinthe house thensitsonthe couch lookingtothe tv screen,
hisface illuminated.The figure isstillwatchingthe house,hisheavybreathingmaskedbythe windin
the night.
The followingdayThomasisabouthisdailybusinessinthe highstreet.The figureblendingintothe
crowd startsto followThomas.
Walkingpastwithtwohandfulsof bagsof shoppingthe figure isstalkingfromthe bushes,likehowa
predatorstalksitspray waitingforthe perfecttime tostrike,tokill.Movingcloserthe figure makesa
missstepwhichcreatesa noise.Thomaslooksbackbuteventuallythinksnothingof itandcontinues
to walkhome.
Later that same nightthe figure isstandingoutside Thomas’shouse.He staresandthenstartsslowly
creepingtothe rightof the house.Inside Thomasismakingfood.He pullsouta large kitchenknife
and seeshisreflectioninit,thentakesahandful of vegetablesandstartscutting.Outside the figure
isstaring intothe house throughthe fence;thenwanting togeta closerlookthe figure climbsover.
Thud.Thomas whipsaroundtolookintothe garden.The gardenissoakedindarkness,Thomasknew
he heard something.Thomaslockedthe backdoorandshutthe blinds.Itcouldhave beenanything
he thought,wind, animal,loudneighbours.Outside the figurewatchedasThomaslocksthe door
and shutsthe blinds.The figure wouldstriketomorrow.
The followingnightThomashadbrushedoff the noise he heard.Thomaslocksall the doorsand
knocksoff all the lights.He didn’tknowthatthe figure thatmade the noise inthe bush,the noise in
the gardenwas outside of hishome;andhe wantedto come in.In blissful sleepThomasdidn’thear
the figure pickthe lockof the frontdoor; leavingthe deadnightairto invade hishome alongwith
the figure,the intruder.BlissfullyasleepThomasdidn’thearthe floorboardsscreamingtoalarmhim
as the figure walkedoverthem.Nowthe figure studabove Thomasblissfullyasleep.Heavy
breathingfromthe figure asthe figure raisedhisknife andswungintoThomas repeatedly.
In the same dark room the figure returnedtohiscomputerwithafile toupload,simplynamed

Target Audience/USP
My targetaudience is15+. This isbecause it’sa horrormovie whichactually doesn’tshow violence,
the endingwithThomas’smurderistotallyindarkand youcan onlyhearhis screams.There isn’tany
swearingeither.There isjustsuggestedviolence whichiswhyIthinkthismovie couldbe a 15 inthe
UK. I knowthisismy audience because horrorisone of the most consumedgenresof moviesby
teenagers.The targetaudience will be interestedinthe plotbecause itssimple tofollow andhasa
youngmale leadwhichmayintrigue themasusuallyit’safemale lead.
