Lisa Haddow presented on ORCID IDs at a research committee meeting in 2016 and recommended that all researchers at the University of Stirling register for an ORCID ID and include it in their research management system. Over subsequent months, the Deputy Principal and Lisa sent emails encouraging researchers to register, resulting in 111 registrations after the first email and 162 after a second update. While progress was made, challenges remained with inactive staff records, a lack of developer resources, and discrepancies between reported ORCID and RMS numbers. Recently, the university transitioned systems and the new system can now automatically import publications linked to ORCID IDs, promising improved integration in the future.
